the advisory last week

Well, well, well! We did not have duty last week (September 17 and 18, 2018) because the school and our houses had to be fixed first. Twice the schedules were altered; first by our dean of the college of nursing, then the final advisory was last Tuesday by the administrator of the entire school. Classes resumed last Thursday wherein the students (and the high school department as well) had their periodic examination. Today was also the resumption of duty but another advisory was posted saying today is the last day of examination of college students, which leaves tomorrow, Tuesday, as the first and last duty day for the 2nd half of the month. Ergo, we part-time clinical instructors, since we are paid per 8-hour duty day, will be compensated for only one day . Just one. Yes, it is not the song of Kenny Rogers entitled JUST ONCE, but JUST ONE--- just one day salary. But it is good though because we will have make-up duty for the days we missed during the typhoon’s devastation.

So you have a lot to do ahead to compensate for the lost days.

@arunima25 no, in fact, i requested for a 3pm-11pm shift since my son works from 7:15am to 5:15pm and my sister has to feed the 11 dogs for lunch with my help

@LadyDuck yes that is really true. few minutes ago, i also received a message from my colleague Miss Cata asking me if the case colloquium will push through this Tuesday. i replied 'yes' because that was the latest announcement our clinical coordinator told us last Tuesday before we dismissed the students home.

i agree. it is just that our college of nursing posted advisories changing one over the other, until the one posted in the picture was the final one, coming from the admin of the school, so all from our college were disregarded.

Sorry you will only get one day pay. I hope the make-up duty will make up for that.

At least during makeup classes you will be compensated. I worked with a salary and was paid no matter what disaster struck.

that is good to know. last night, our clinical coordinator made a verbal 'advisory' again that next Tuesday, we should be in school for the case colloquium of my first group of students.

i believe anywhere if there are strong rains and winds, or maybe blizzards, classes and work are suspended.

i think it did not affect much because we were able to get electricity back after 1 week, and internet after 8 days. hahaha! still that is long-delayed.

You need time to fix the problems after the storm.

the problems are only the dry leaves. we have the generator though. the power outage, water supply, and internet are not our problems but those concerned.
