“Be Careful What You Wish For”

Maybe there some truth of these phrases but sometimes the irony of the things on what you really wish for.
I have other post about joining raffle promos and I won one from the minor prizes at stake.
I have this feeling that I will win and my niece told me that it would be nice if I would be chosen the winner of the major prize because it’s a large amount already.
I told my niece that I hope that it’s not the oven toaster because it wouldn’t be much of use because we already have the turbo broiler which can cook in many different ways. I further said that, what if I would really win it and the prize I would be getting is the defective one because it should be sent via shipping?
And indeed, I won the oven toaster and it’s truly the defective one.
Sometimes, our wishes would really turn to reality.
I just hope that it would be the good ones and not the irony.

But it's true. I just wonder why it turned it that way. Some bad air just carried it over and whisper to them. I won't considered that it was damaged during shipping because the package is in good form. If it's factory defect, I thought it was checked before selling it.

I think its more of what you "thought" or have in mind, sort of "came true".It is not necessarily something you're wishing for. In your case your negative thought of winning a toaster and a defective one turned into reality. If you have heard of it, or read about it, that''s why they say our mind is powerful, that sometimes we attract the kind of thoughts that we think.
It does not come as a wish for me. I certainly wouldn't wish for something negative.
I hope you get to replace your toaster though.

It might be a pure coincidence but it just turned out that way. I'm dreaming of the bigger prize but I'm not dismissing the possibility of winning prizes with lesser value. I just wish that it should not be the oven toaster and might be the others instead. I'm still thankful of winning at least of the many entries I was one of the winners. It just like, what I have in did came true.
I just keep it as remembrance. If I would return it, I might spend for the shipment.
