I have had several of those. I don't really remember the ones that have woken me up, luckily.
However, there is one that repeats itself and has since childhood. It varies a little bit each time, but it seems to recur atleast yearly.
I am in a church. It's a large hall with many pews and pretty stained glass windows. It's daylight outside but dark in the church. I am standing and talking to people when he walks in. I don't like him. There's something about the way he carries himself that bothers me, as if I sense some kind of malice beneath his facade. He's talking to me but I am frightened. I know who he is and that terrifies me even more.

@ramapo17 You can find dream symbols online. I used to have a book of dream symbols, but then, I far believe my own interpretations than anything a dream symbol book might tell me.

I sometimes have recurring dreams but not that often lately. I always wondered why I would have the same dream more than once.

@ramapo17 I often dream of a dilapidated house that is haunted.I enter the house and strange and eerie things start taking place. It is not easy for me to to describe what happens then, but I often dream of that haunted house.

You must wake up tired after being in that haunted house every night @Shivram59.

@ramapo17 Yes,whenever I dream of that house,I get up depressed in the morning. An elderly gentleman in my neighbourhood says I must have some connection with that house.I have never seen that house, but he says that house must be somewhere in the country.

My most memorable nightmares happened a long, long time ago... The first, when I was about 12 years old....I dreamt our house burned....lists of little odd details. The second one, I was about 35 years old and dreamt that my daughter had drowned in the bathtub.
Both were vivid and even years later I can describe them in great detail.

@Shiva49 I still have such vivid dreams of when I was working and I have been retired for over 10 years now but I still see the people I worked with and the place just like it looked. Sometimes I don't want to get up as I am enjoying the dream.

Yeah, I had one like that last week. Fortunately, I don't seem to have nightmares often.

Do you remember them when you have them? I use to try and figure out why I had them even when I have a good dream, I try to figure out why. I don't always find the answers though.

When I was about four or five years old, my brother and I shared a bedroom together and we had bunk beds. I slept on the top and he slept on the bottom. One night, I had a dream that the devil came for me, but I fought with him to keep him from taking me. The nightmare fight in my bed went on for some time, and finally the devil gave up and said he was going to take my pillow instead. He started pulling it right through the middle of the mattress as he was descending back into Hell, and I was grabbing the other end trying to stop him from taking it. Finally, I lost my grip and away he went with my pillow. I woke up screaming, and my parents came running in. I told them what happened, and that the devil took my pillow because he couldn't get me. I then freaked out even more with the lights on, because my pillow was actually missing. My parents, perplexed, started looking around the room, and eventually found my pillow underneath the bottom bunk where my brother was sleeping. That dream still freaks me out to this day. How in the world did my pillow get all the way down from my top bunk to underneath my brother's bottom bunk? It still gives me chills.
