I've been at this new job a month and learnt a few things. The place is very disorganized and manager get shuffled around. As was my last job at the pet store the same and ran similar. Luckily this job is suppose to be temp until end of year. I told her I'd have no issues then coming back the following year for Christmas. This new manager working and my god. 90% of us are new but even the staff who have been awhile don't seem to know what to Do!! Yesterday myself and another lady were talking to the team lead. We do inventory and count stuff, stock etc. So when numbers are off I go show her the sheet then she changes it. So I'm waiting like a patient child for her to finish. The other lady couldn't find an item and states we had 35. So meanwhile it was in its 'home' but down the aisle So this manager comes up and starts why are you standing around or can t you find it look we only have 4 hour shifts to do 8 hours work. One thing this job is about unrealistic goals and over working. So he just told me to go find something to do. So since I'm done waiting for this team lead I stroll down another aisle to help another girl. Once I finished my 3 tasks the ram lead goes can you go ask him. Apparently most staff arnt as fast as me. I go make a list and I finish it. Not 1 task, find you and you whine. The other lady beside me was like I don't know how much I can handle of this. I go completely I go barking orders and talking down will loose a lot of people.

It's crazy that there are people like that. Some managers just expect you to guess or do so much work in such a short amount of time time.

@ricki_911 I can certainly understand as well. I wouldn't be staying there for long.

The 3 of us just stood staring at each other. I can see why many have left in a short period of time.

I hate to say how many times I have told supposed "managers" to take their jobs and stuff them. I get tired of the games that they play in the business. One supervisor will tell me to do one thing and another will tell me to do something else at the same time. He won't listen if I try to tell him that the "Manager" told me to do.... Then of course there are the ones who could care less about getting any work done, they're just there for the money. They expect the underlings to come up with excuses for why the supervisors didn't get the work assigned and that the work wasn't completed by the "underlings". I simply end up going to the manager and telling him (or her) to take the job and stuff it and I walk out. If the manager and supervisors would get together and work out a work plan it wouldn't take too long for all the tasks to get completed. They don't even take into consideration how to figure the work so that it gets done in the least amount of time with the least amount of man power. If I were you I would be using my spare time away from that awful job to be applying to other places for work. It sounds like the one you have now isn't worth the time you have to put into the job. You may like the job, but the boss and his underlings are making the work environment miserable.

@BarBaraPrz She sounds like a go getter like me. I am totally self employed and I work the equivalent of 5 jobs. The funny thing about it is I am so absorbed with working my jobs that now when I try to think of doing something nice to reward myself for doing something I can't come up with something just for me.
