Sorry I Missed You

One tries to be as active, proactive, or attentive (whatever word works best around here) about the MyLot thing. But it IS of course not a job, but rather a simple past time that happens to earn a few bucks a month. Still, things happen, and sometimes you are just not feeling it. That happened to me over the past week and a half or so and as a result I unfortunately allowed my own posts to go ignored in responding to them... And I allowed some of my notifications to go unchecked and they expired. I know it's not the end of the world. I know people won't really notice. At the same time I still do feel at least a LITTLE bit bad about it, and fully grasp that this sites relies on as much activity as we are willing to muster here. So, my apologies. I did not get to everything. I WILL eventually get to responding to any and all comments on my posts—but it may take me a little time to get to them all. And I will try to be better. Lashes are welcome.

I am almost sad. So...you are saying no one would miss me here? But on a serious note, I catch your drift.

Life is life and we live it. Online is as it is. For some its a lifeline to people, others its a job. To me its just hanging and seeing what friends are doing.

For me it is much the same. I DO try to expand people's discussions wherever I can though. I figure it helps the site and helps members to earn more. So, when I miss a few it irks me a bit. But like I said, it is not the end of the world.

Don't feel too bad Jim. There are times when I have not been able to get on here for months. Life happens. I enjoy getting on here and seeing all the wonderful people and trying to catch up with everyone. For me, many time mind is to do some tech problem.

@porwest I find when you like the people you interact with on the site that is when you feel bad about not being able to use the site. You miss those people. You get close to some like they are family. I know, I do at least.

@whiteream That is part of what makes a disappearing notification...irksome. I can always go back, and often do, to my old posts and respond to comments I missed there. But the ones on other's posts? It would be very difficult for me to go back and find them.

I try not to feel bad when I can't get to it all or spend more time here. Not sure why, really. But we all encounter times when we just can't be here for whatever reason.

@porwest Jim, you have nothing to apologize for. There are times so many of us cannot be here for whatever reason. I was not always here in September because we had so many Jewish holidays in a short period of time and since I observe them cannot be here. On our Sabbaths I am also not on the computer. I come when I can. Glad to have you here when you can be here. Yes, we do not make that much but to me every little bit helps till I sort out my life.

Thanks so much for the kind words. Some days I just feel everyone is so good around here to other members, you just feel a little bit guilty at times when you cannot be as active.

I appreciate your attention to detail, but as long as you're active here it's what counts. Sometimes it's better to miss some notifications, and pick up anew than to let it bother you

@porwest So true, so much to do here. I usually try to do notifications first, then I go back through and visit people who visited me, then post a new discussion, visit people whose posts I really enjoy reading (which is everyone, of course, but there are a handful I particularly enjoy) - then - "explore" but I rarely get there. Sometimes my routine is thrown off due to real life though

I think I agree with you. I mean, sometimes we just have to say we can only get to what we can get to. If the site is working properly, and we are working the site properly, there is ALWAYS something new to get to.

What`s important here is interaction. Therefore, people will surely going to notice you if you don`t reply to them

You're not alone Jim. I, myself, found myself not spending time here in mylot this month. I had been away and I still don't see myself staying highly active here. Everything depends on my mood actually. There are months when all I want to do is mylot during my free time and there are months that I just take a peek here once in awhile but don't stay more than 30 minutes. And there's no need to apologise for your absence.

Nope. After seven days they are gone. Some people get them via email and then you can keep them for as long as you want. But I found getting the relentless emails rather annoying so I shut mine off.

It is not a job, or really, not even an obligation; just a pass time. I think some people get a bit too serious about it. I have been crazy busy myself the last couple of days, and This is the first time this week I've been able to get more than one post up (if that), much less repay any comments.

I have been doing that a lot. I come back on eventually and answer all the comments on my post... sometimes a month late! Trying to make it a habit to post one post per day and answer whatever has been commented at least, but yes, it's not an obligation. I also agree: sorry to the people I didn't answer!!!

I'll give you eyelashes. That's it. I was pretty MIA most of the weekend because I was playing in a golf tournament. (That's a misnomer...with what I did, what I should say is "I carried my putter and a ball around for eight rounds.")

Life is like that. I find that when I cannot get on myLot for a longer time I am actually longing to do that and I am worrying about how long it's been. I just really enjoy finding out what everyone is up to and adding my worth to the discussions. The money part is just the added bonus here. So no worries we all do the best we can.

Oh, please. Don't apologize or feel badly. Many of us have real lives or real jobs to attend to and can't be here 24/7. I try my best to respond, but I know my friends understand if I can't get around to it. What amazes me are the people who always seem to be on here no matter what time of day I may pop on or off. Sheesh!

If you really feel sorry then repeat the same. If you apologies even GOD will forgive you and we are very little one in front of GOD.
