Easy Open ... Or Not

I made delicious boneless beef ribs in the crock pot today. Just a small package. In the microwave, I made up a package of spiraled zucchini. The package said 'easy open'. Yeah right. I let it cool down so I could handle it, then tried to figure out how to open it. I took the easy route. I grabbed my handy kitchen scissors and cut. Then I found the easy open flap. Not so easy to find, but I did get it open. It was my first time making spiral zucchini. It was very good. I guess I'm trying to make things hard for myself. I didn't have a lot to do today with cleaning. Just wiping down the surfaces in the kitchen - done. So, what did I do? I changed around my cupboards. What was in them that is. I decided that my little-used dishes were going to become my everyday dishes. And exchanged cupboards. Though, I'm also thinking of just getting rid of them. For now, while I'm thinking about them, I'll leave them where they're at. I have set aside several mugs to take to the thrift shop. My cupboards actually look organized for the time being. I do still need to vacuum. I'll do that tomorrow. With the edit program, I'm using I fixed the slow-paced chapters. I am very happy with the results I'm getting with Thread of Evidence. I also watched the new show, New Amsterdam on Hulu. I now have two new shows to watch this year, and both are set up on Hulu so I don't miss them. The other being Manifest. The only one I need to watch on the CBS site is MacGyver. It's not on Hulu. I'll be having my small group when that is on. Have you tried 'easy open' packages to find they aren't so 'easy open'? How is your day going? That's been my day so far. Thanks for reading. Chalk art at the Botanical Gardens

We love beef ribs, with or without the bones. I need to do some reorganizing in our kitchen cupboards, also. I love it when these jobs are all finished! Yes, I've had easy open bags and they are NOT easy, in the least bit:( Tear on the dotted line is my favorite one, it never works!

I love it when it says tear and has a picture of a scissors on the dotted line.

@just4him LOL Yah, and the tearing never works! Thus, we resort to the scissors! lol

Oh I've tried easy open things before and they definitely weren't easy. Lol. Yay for new shows and finding ways to watch missed shows

Yes, the new shows this week were great. It's great there are alternative ways to watch them, unlike years ago when you either saw it when it was on or you missed it. Some changes are good. It's good when something easy open, actually is.

@just4him we still have ours, plus a dvd / vcr player. but cant find blank tapes anywhere, plus they probably wouldn't work with our smart tvs. idk.

@just4him They are. We can put a man on the moon but we can't design packages that are easy to open.

I always cut them open with scissors. I keep scissors in the kitchen drawer just for that purpose. Glad your work is coming along well. Enjoy your shows.

@RubyHawk I'm on my third pair. I thought I would need to buy a new pair not long ago, but I just washed them real good and they're good as new.

@just4him My poor kitchen scissors were about worn out so I went to the Dollar tree today and bought some new ones.

Easy open it says in cans like sardines, corned beef and wondering where is it, only to find out its in the bottom.

Easy open packages, I have learned, are labels. Not accurate representations.

So, they are. Wouldn't it be great if all labels were accurate representations of the package?

I've had things that were hard to open; even my little single flavor packets for water. That's when I just grab the scissors lol. I'm glad things are going well with Thread of Evidence.

@just4him You're welcome. :) Oh yeah. It says "Tear here" - I get it torn halfway and then it like... gets stuck.

@just4him I understand exactly what you are saying that packages say they are easy to open. They are not. I just grab the scissors and open it that way and saves me the aggravation of trying for a long time to open it up myself.
