I'm starting to get car sick, air sick and sea sick now, so we are down to our final two travel quizzes. Today we are back to the air with travel theme songs about flying. See if you know these flying tunes.... Here is a Steve Miller song to take you to those friendly skies, enjoy. Here are your clues: 1. This British artist does not write lyrics. He used a songwriting partner to deal with that. He was well known in the mid-'70s for his outrageous clothing (especially eyeglasses) in his live sets. The piano player has sold over 300 million records, making him one of the best-selling music artists in the world. The singer wrote the music to this song as an homage to glam rock, a style defined by outrageous costumes that were popular with many acts of the 1970's. The song part of the lyric is sung in a stuttered way which gave the tune a futuristic robotic feel, which the lyricist intended. This tune was performed by this artist at both "Live Aid" and on "Soul Train." This singer was one of the few white musicians to perform on Soul Train. 2. This Southern Rock Band from Florida released this song on their debut album of 1973. The band wrote a popular single, "Sweet Home Alabama", a response to Neil Young's "Southern Man", the song reaching #8 on the charts. (btw: they were not rivals, but fans of each other's music and good friends). The lyrics of the song are about a man explaining to a girl why he can't settle down and make a commitment. The tune is considered to be the group's signature song, and is used as a finale during their live performances. The album version runs 9:08, with the last lyric uttered at 4:55 and then a powerful instrumental to the song's end. Liner Notes: -"Jetairliner" was written by Paul Pena, a blind folk singer from Cape Cod. Pena played the Newport Folk Festival in 1969, but was unable to launch a successful career. -Steve Miller up with Boz Scaggs, who was the orignal lead singer for The Steve Miller Band. You might know 2 Boz hits "Lido Shuffle" and "Lowdown." So Whodunnit? If your stuck and need additional "help from your friends" just let me know in your response. As always thanks for reading and responding to my music post !!!! Source- Wikipedia & songfacts.com Photo- pinterest.com

1. We all know William Shatner perfected that song. 2. Good song (a tribute to Duane Allman), but I’m really sick of hearing people call it out as a request. Boz wasn’t the “original lead singer,” but back then a number of members took turns singing lead with Steve. I think the last time someone other than Steve sang lead on a song was Number 5, where Tim Davis sang lead on “Tokin’s.” From then of it was all Steve, all the time.

@dgobucks226 -- thought #1 would have been "Rocket Man," not "Bennie and the Jets." As for Miller, who can forget this interestingly-titled tune?

You wouldn't make that last one easy for me, would you? It seems Sweet Home Alabama was by the group Alabama. Just a guess. Hoping I got at least one right on all these quizzes. Don't know the first one. We had the Steve Miller Band in Green Bay in a free concert the night before the first NFL game. From what I understand it was very well attended. The concert was outside Lambeau Field.

Nice try! It was another Southern group called Lynrnd Skynrd. The song was "Free Bird" their signature concert song. The other song was 1. Bennie and The Jets- Elton John. Very cool about Steve Miller playing outside at Lambeau. Thanks for that additional input!
