Little (ear)Drummer Boy

My sister and her family had to come to the Oklahoma City area Wednesday for an appointment with Hudson's specialist. You might remember Hudson has fetal alcohol syndrome, and Hudson is adopted like my niece, Amyra. So since they were in our area me, my dad, and his wife met them for lunch at Cracker Barrel (it's too bad I didn't have money to spend because I LOVE the Cracker Barrel store). Anyway, the below picture is of him in his high chair, and he had just thrown his eye glasses down. The specialist found a tumor in his ear, so there is a lot of hope this will improve his hearing when it is removed. It's benign, but he had just been to a previous doctor who told him his ears were clear. Thankfully, the specialist obviously knows what he's doing. This is poor little Hudson's sixth surgery in his three years on earth. He's such a good child. He doesn't fuss, and now that he has a walker, he can zoom! They were so impressed with his progress.

It's always sad when the tiny ones are suffering.

What a sweet little fella! Praying his hearing will improve. He's had a lot of strikes against him, but blessed to have you all for his family.

I hardly recognized him-he's grown up so much! He seems to have lost that toddler look. He's going to be a lady-killer with those big beautiful blue eyes, and we know hat he has a lot of inner strength. I do hope that the doctor and his team are able to remove the tumour in his ear and that he won't have to undergo any more surgeries. That's more then enough for a little guy. Its time for some little guy play and fun.

I swear I didn't recognize him at first! He has grown so much and is just precious! Thank goodness the specialist found the tumor. It's removal can make a world of difference. Let's hope this is the end of his surgeries. too.
