At Last My Prince Has Come!

I bought a $20 toaster from Target about three months ago. I got busy and never set it up. I had a nice toaster at my last house, but the local mice used it as a combination kitchen and washroom, so I tossed it. I was about to set up my new toaster, and went to Trader Joe's to get some toaster waffles, but they were out of toaster waffles, so my project got delayed. Finally, the other night, I found some multi-grain toaster waffles at TJs that looked good, so I snapped them up, and am now ready to set up my toaster. This could be an important new stage in my life. I haven't had waffles at home for breakfast in years. I have butter and (real) maple syrup here. Can you feel my joy? Are waffles on your breakfast menu? My title is a derivation of a classic song that my favorite jazz trio has recorded. If you want to hear some nice, mellow, jazz music, click through.

I sometimes purchase the toaster waffles, but I prefer pancakes with maple syrup. I use the toaster waffles to make my unique breakfast sandwich. Bacon and/or sausage, egg and cheese between two toasted waffles. Adding butter and maple syrup is always an option.

Oh, I'll have to score some bacon! That hasn't been a part of my normal repertoire lately.

@xstitcher If you're in the neighborhood, please stop by. I need a swift kick in the pants to get my toaster set up.

I usually make waffles on Sunday morning, I make them from scratch and serve when they are still warm, with real Canadian maple syrup for my husband and sour cream and blueberries for me.

You will have to let us know how your new toaster works for those frozen waffles. I have a Mickey waffle iron so have to make them fresh on Sundays for the kids, no frozen allowed here. lol

Fresh waffles are yummy. Do you have a picture of the Mickey waffle iron? It would probably make me smile.

@TheHorse Sounds like you are all set and now you have to put your toaster together so you can enjoy your waffles. I hope it all worked out. Mice are not good.

I think mice are cute, but the little presents they leave behind impart and odd taste to toast and toaster waffles.

@TheHorse I have not a mice lover. I am glad I have a cat so no mice or rats here.

I had toast today, and had crumpets about a month ago, but haven't had waffles in ages.

I do like them on occasion, usually after I’ve had a stomach bug and gone to a bland diet.

My parents used to make me "milk toast" after I'd had the stomach flu.

Congratulations on getting your toaster. Nope, toasters are not for me. I hardly if ever eat bread and I don't make waffles but what I enjoy is cooking pancakes.

I went through a pancake stage a few months ago. But then I got lazy. Or busy.
