Health Update, week 5

What comes up must go down. Like where I was in week 2, my weight had a slight decline from where it was last week at 105.5 pounds. Now I've lost half a pound at 105.0, when it was a struggle to get to 2400-2600 calories a day. No comment from my brother via text this morning. I hope to rebound like a basketball and gain some weight in the next couple of active weeks. And while I go back to the gym on Monday, I'll still do a weekly update until I've reached the goal by winter. Though I've done french fries/tater tots and ice cream for junk food this week, I'm still snacking between meals and add a last night dessert. I hope to get to 106 pounds a week from today. Since you've asked why I need to do this in previous health update posts for the past months, let me answer you in this post. I've been underweight for almost 4 years ever since I went to the gym in mid-October. My weight have been between 103-110 pounds and never higher. My doctor wants me at a normal weight for my height. I've been told I'm skinny too. My shoe sizes and my clothing sizes went down to the smaller sizes. I'm not strong enough to open jars or bottles or even windows, or to balance in yoga with the tree pose for example. It might had something to do with my left hip pain/back pain this past spring and summer too. I just want to stay healthy and active at the same time by eating more, until I reach my target goal of 120 pounds by December. So I hope this answers your questions for every time I post this update.

Sorry to hear you have lost some weight, but when you posted what you ate the last time you posted on one of the dinner discussions it was basically vegetables, broiled tomato sandwich etc. I don't think you can gain weight eating that type of stuff especially if going to the gym. I would be eating pizza, cookies etc. It might not be the healthiest but if your goal is weight gain..I think slacking off on the veggies alittle is a good idea..

Have you considered strength training? (lifting weights) Yoga and pilates is all well and good but maybe it isn't the best way to help gain weight and build strength. I would definitely continue with the snacks and Ensure drinks. Protein bars might be a good option too. Not being strong enough to open jars, bottles, or windows is scary.

Hmm. Not sure about that. I don't think I could lift weights, except if it's like 2 pound dumb bells. Yeah it is. I need my brother or a bottle opener to help me out with it.

Too skinny and underweight may give surely serious health problems. You should stop eating too many vegetables and eat food that help to get weight quicker. I fully agree with snowy on this. Eat pasta, pizza, cheesecake, and animal proteins, that are the only one that will give you back strength.

I'm doing my best. But I do veggies as a side dish for any meal. I do double my servings to add more calories and snack/dessert too. I've been doing pasta here. Pizza I could do next month. Not sure about cheesecake. I've been doing chicken, turkey, and fish for my animal proteins.

@snowy22315 Not really. I don't eat red meat, pork, or beef. Ground chicken and turkey are healthier than them. Only 90% lean and boneless skinless.

It depends on how much I eat and how many calories it has. I should be going up and not down, even just a little.

It's gets a bit 'old' having to give the same information every post, doesn't it? I always try to weave in that I'm from Western Australia as any newbies don't always know this.

I don't know your height, but don't be upset. Weight fluctuates daily. I'd eat more calorie rides foods like bagels and cream cheese, milkshakes, cheese burgers and fries, pizza, etc. You'll pack on the pounds that way for sure. Just like me! LOL!

I'm 5"5". So I should be 120-125, according to my doctor. I did buy two milkshakes this weekend for this week only.

@DianneN I will. I only brought two and would have half of one during dinner. I'll try to tonight with Boost.
