As some of you know that I have an ongoing dental treatment, it’s quite terrifying every time I have an appointment. So I’m seated here waiting for my turn and I can’t stop shaking. It’s not my first time to get an extraction but I wonder why I never get used to it. I wonder if anyone can get used to a dentist.

I also had my 4 teeth extracted, thankfully the doctor was good and patient enough, the injection was less painful. Rest of the procedure went well I am sorry you had a painful experience. Take rest. Which teeth was extracted for you?

@aureliah that's what anesthesia is about, we wont have pain later. So, now your treatment is finished or you need to go again?

It was the molars. Only the injection was painful. Extraction dint hurt

It’s horrible. I have had the most painful injection. Waiting for it to numb completely

Yes it was done about 50 minutes ago. I can’t conplain but the injection was too painful

@yoalldudes I think it was because it is the molars. Otherwise extraction was not painful

I just sat there on the dentist chair and let them do their jobs (as long as the bills would not be horrible, I should be fine with anything).

That is why I always get what is called the laughing gas. It relaxes you just enough to get through.

I will ask my dentist if they use it. Actually I have no idea what they put in my mouth. I close my eyes the moment I enter the room

@aureliah I would ask, it relaxes you, all they do is put on like an oxygen mask and you breathe in the meds.

I doubt anyone would get used to it, but it's necessary and you'll feel much better when it's all done. I hope you made it through in one piece!

hahaha yes I did. I felt like running away after the injection but I knew I would be back there myself so I let the dentist do her work

my son, i accompanied him in his first and second tooth extraction fearing he was scared of the long needle for the anesthesia. but he outgrew his fear and now he goes alone to the dentist to have his teeth check-up.

@aureliah really? i had phobia when i had about 2 sets of teeth pulled out. but now, i am not afraid anymore. just the small hurt when the needle of the local anesthesia pricks my gums.

I had a tooth extraction 10 or 15 years ago (when I still didn’t have diabetes). When I had problems with my molar two years ago, I have opted to go for the root canal treatment. It’s a bit more expensive but way safer for people who have a medical condition like diabetes and hypertension.
