The difficult to respect citizens rights

There are many, but here is what I feel about specific ones. If somebody throws acid on another person's face, has he not infringed the rights of the victim as per constitution? We may put the guy in prison, but how have we managed to restore the victim's rights, or as moral science suggests ..repair the harm as far as possible? Does such a person deserve respect for all his citizenship rights? I feel no. If prison sentences were stopping such things, or even death sentences, would we not have managed to surface from such things by now? Apparently, there has to be continuous exploration and evolution of methods to stop crimes. It is on this basis I had suggested that people like this be shown movies and their variation in their physiological composition be studied. People go for blood tests, why can't that little blood and body fluids be extracted to learn which hormone is triggered and to what extent by watching some movie or listening to some dialogue. It can be then compared to similar body fluids study of other "normal" people to arrive at the difference, and come up with medication. I am told that would be similar to Josef Mengele's experiments. I beg to differ. There is nothing cruel going on here. No physical pain other than a simple needle prick, is being inflicted. Nobody is being targeted based on race, religion, etc. Agreed it would be something that is done without the consent of the criminal. But we do many things without the consent of the criminal. Would the criminal like to allow forensic people in his home with search warrant? We give him freedom to lie on oath, as if we are doing a huge favor. But we do not spare his hair on brush for DNA tests, or collect swab from his mouth for DNA tests. If free will is his right, surely he should have right not to allow others into his home. In any event, I think this is more humane way when compared to electrocuting a person or injecting poison. We are letting the guy live, but we are taking his help to understand such psychologies better along with physiology. Am I evil?

I don't think that inhumane crimes deserve any human rights consideration.

Thank you. I was saying same thing. Human rights consideration is based on reciprocity shown to other citizens. We can't expect victim to remain in pain because of human rights consideration.

@vandana7 Exactly. Victim deserves the right to get justice in time. We can not let them down due to all this talk of humanity and human things.

No you are not evil. I donĀ“t care about criminals rights, murderers and attackers. What rights do they want when they are going around killing others.

Thank you for understanding that. We need better ways to control crimes. If such crimes can be controlled with medication, why not.

@vandana7 Yes that is ideal if the system would work, but you know human nature is to defy all authority and resist anything that would control them.

Will leave everybody blind. If the guy throws acid, should we throw acid and leave him on street. How does it help the girl?

@Plethos And then there will be the next person, and another person, and another person. But if we can prevent at least the future ones.....we would have managed to do something positive?

@vandana7 - unfotuneately, it wont help the girl, she cant go back in time and stop it. She can just come to some sort of acceptance that will suffice and move on with life to the best she can.
