I recently went to a newbie post on which he was given lot of tips.
Among which someone gave him the tips to avoid calling my "friend and dear" which interacting. I gulped and that put me it deep thinking since I do this all the time.
I consider everyone on mylot to be my friend. I never thought if someone might not actually like it and feel bad.
Do you dislike it if someone calls you friend or dear?
I'm sorry if I've hurt you I didn't meant to.

I don't mind the terms of endearment, but I wish that the people who use them would leave an elaborate comment and not just a "Thanks".

@BabeSays It especially hurts when the discussion is theirs and they dont participate.
Seems so aloof.

They are many here who use that and I don't find anything wrong with it. I am okay.

I don`t mine it online, on mylot. I do not like it in person though, men can make me feel creepy calling me names like babe, honey, sweetie and darling.

Yes me either. Only on mylot with mylotters. In real life that's gonna be too creepy.

I feel the same here on mylot. I feel being closed to them and happy. Glad that you don't find it offensive.

I actually find it sweet when someone calls me “friend” or “dear.”

I have no problem at all being a 'friend' or a 'dear' to anyone. I've had numerous members use those terms with me and I am fine with it. In fact I think it's nice.

@BabeSays With all of the conflicts we see and read about, terms of endearment are a very nice change of pace.

@shaggin can I say "amen" to your comment? Some people look for reasons to be annoyed and complain. I hope I never do that to people.

i prefer to be called by my name or username. i wish not to be addressed as ''dude'', ''bro'', or honey'', although there are some who address me that. i sometimes call Filipino Ilocano friends as ''kabsat'' (sibling) or hijo or hija.
being called ''friend'' is fine as long as i know my boundaries as a 'virtual' friend.
