Inktober

Is anyone participating in Inktober? Its where you make a drawing in ink based off a list of prompts each day for a month. I was scrolling through my twitter feed admiring all the amazing art being done today for the event and stumbled across an unofficial prompt list for it called 'Botanical Witches'. It gave me quite a few cute ideas so I decided to give it a go against my better judgment. I don't think I am going to have the time to do this every day for the month of October but I guess I am going to try. Today's prompt was 'Lavender Witch'. All in all I think it turned out better than I was expecting. Especially when it comes to the watercolor. I can't say I really have a whole lot of experience with that type of media so it was a bit of a struggle to get things looking the way I wanted it to.

That looks really lovely. I'm pretty hopeless at sketching.

@isweartokira I am definitely doing a lot of experimenting this time around. Watercolor is my favorite kind of media even though I haven't worked with it before.

@things4gotten Don't get discouraged if you fall behind a few days, just keep drawing even if you don't finish in October. and mostly have fun with it, it's a great time to experiment with different styles, techniques or art supplies. best of luck this year!

I am not good in drawing. My brother participated in Inktober 2 years ago. I can share his drawings here but I need to ask permission to get them from his IG.

I had a friend who participated last year and produced a lot of really awesome stuff. I kind of envied her, and at the same time I wasn't sure I could do something like this. I am still not sure, actually. XD It seems like a good way to practice though. I am used to doing digital art these days so it was nice to get out of my comfort zone. I still have a lot to learn when it comes to watercolor.

@jobelbojel I am probably going to try tomorrows prompt and keep at it until I can't. No idea how things will go but I think I might only share the ones I complete that look okay. I don't expect them all to turn out like this one did.

That would be really fun if I could draw! It would be awesome if there was a challenge for graphic art! Your drawing is really nice, very pretty!

I am sure you can find some challenges online somewhere for graphic artists. If not, you could always try making up some challenges. If I remember correctly, Inktober actually started with an artist trying to learn how to work with ink. Other artists joined in after he made the prompt list and posted it. I have seen beginners and experts alike participating. And thank you for the compliment! I am still keeping up with everything but haven't been posting my work here mostly because I have had a few rough days and stopped trying to add color to them. I figured that could always come later.

@MommyOfEli2013 I will probably post some of my favorites on here when I get around to painting them. I haven't had a whole lot of experience with watercolor and it is a medium I would like to explore further.
