Will I be healed of the trauma of verbal and emotional abuse if I get out of this work and this province? This is the decision that I have to make every day, enery bad encounter. But I have been putting with the bad, because there are a lot of good. And the grass may not be greener on the other side.

If I experience verbal or emotional abuse from my employer and it is happening always I would really start to think of leaving them. I think no matter how inefficient an employee is they have no right to emotionally abuse you to the point that you are traumatize or demoralised to go to work anymore.

@yoalldudes Well if the assailant left then I guess you are safe where you are right now. I guess its a matter of time with the help of your new boss you can recover from it.

Thank you. My abuser has left the workplace but she has left me crippled to assert myself having ruined my reputation in the workplace. My current boss is very supportive. And now, the abuser take many forms as I have take on the character of the victim. I am working within myself but I am thinking I may heal fast with a new environment.

have you tried the "walking" therapy? Try it for awhile you might just need to walk a bit and then find your answers while you are walking. Give it a try first.

Funny yesterday our office implemented a rule where everyone in the office sitting down for quite a time to stand and walk around the office and stretch a bit every hour or a couple of hours. We jokingly followed and we got a bell and there's someone who rings it and when it is heard everyone is asked to stand up and so stretching exercises and walk around office. I just do not know if they can be retained in the office. LOL

You have to stand against any abuse that you are facing. There is no province that is free of it. There are people who are looking out for soft victims all the time. You have to put a strong fight. Heal yourself. Inner bruises ruin the beauty of life.

@yoalldudes It is tough to stay immune to external triggers. It takes time to become so strong and we have to consciously try for it.

I am starting to see the beauty of life so I feel I am starting to heal. External triggers are still there though so I relapse.

So true my friend. So my first step is healing of my inner self. It's so hard to train the mind and emotions. Are there any tips to keep the thoughts and feelings positive?

@yoalldudes Actually, I can relate with your situation and your fear is my fear too but I've learned to become numb with those insulting words from superior as time goes by.

@yoalldudes Yes, when we experience a traumatic and abusive situation, the negative after-effects can stay with us for a long time. I hope that God gives you peace of mind. Get close to Him as He can help us to deal with and to endure anything that comes our way.

Under my precvious boss and department it was, but now it's better but I have developed anxiety through the years. I have bouts of panic attacks through the day either at home or workplace.

Why are you putting up with verbal and emotional abuse? Surely you can find a better job elsewhere.

It is very true that the grass is usually not so green on the other side. We can't run away from ourselves.
