A busy day here.
What are your 'Food Rules"
Have a good day.Food rules pls.
this is the front door of our place when in Guatemala
What rules, if any, do you eat by? For instance, do you believe that “It’s not food if it comes to you through the window of a car”

We've been to Guatemala, but don't remember that door. My food rules are to serve everything with a beautiful table setting and fresh flowers. Of course, the food should look good enough to eat and be healthy (no GMOs, no preservatives, no food coloring, sugar free, no salt added) unfrozen, organic, prime, and top quality. It goes without saying to chew with our mouth closed, no speaking with a full mouth, and no blowing your nose at the table.

As long as it's edible, it's food. I grew up with the rule that you had to eat everything on your plate. Because I didn't always like everything put on my plate, I changed that up for my kids. They could take what they liked. My in-laws had the rule that you had to try everything, even what you didn't like, and take what she called a no-thank-you portion.

It reminds me of old prison gates.
Food rule..show gratitude to what you have on your plate, say a thankful prayer to Nature and not to waste anything on your plate. So take what you can consume. And of course I cook a healthy meal.

Mine is say your graces before eating, thank the Lord that there is food on the table and to be able to choose what to eat and what to serve is a bonus when there are a lot of starving and deprived people around the world. Yes observe basic proper table manners always.

When I was growing up my mom always said "clean your plate because there are children starving in other countries"
I don't follow that rule anymore. Now my rule is everything in moderation

Food rules? We try to have our hand in our food- by that I mean that we grind our wheat from wheat kernels. I make the bread that we eat and we generally eat from what is called 'scratch.' We make our own peanut butter. At this point we're not eating much meat. We also eat from local farmers if we can and some from our garden. The more natural a food is the better! Very little white and processed here though we do vegie burgers.
