Early winter forecast may be coming true

I live in the middle of my state. If I want to get to a city like Seattle I must drive over a mountain pass called Snoqualmie. That pass is lower than the northern pass. The northern pass is called Stevens Pass. Stevens is much steeper and has a narrower road than Snoqualmie. Today in my part of my state we have gusting winds of 40 miles an hour- hard for me to drive in that in my little car plus it blows dust from fields enough that it makes it hard to see. This coming Sunday we intend to head over Snoqualmie Pass to the West side- toward Oregon. My family has an event going on the weekend after. Their event is in the northern part of my state. That means that I would have to head over the steeper Stevens Pass. I hope by then that this storm of snow is gone. I doubt I am going to the family gathering, though. I sure do not want slippery, dangerous winter sooner than normal. No thanks.

Drive careful...we've been on the road since last Wednesday....racking up the miles. We will finally be home next week Tuesday evening.

@sallypup so far we've added over 6,000 km (4,000 miles) to our van, since last Wednesday morning 10:30 AM Atlantic time.

I can remember going over the blues up in that area. A snow storm hit in late September and we had to stop and get chains for our car. What an experience. We were in line for three hours.

@wolfgirl569 I totally agree with you. That s word is a curse word. November is when studded tires are legal not October.

I'm down in Anaheim until tomorrow then flying back to Oregon. Friday we are having rain in Scio. My oldest who is there taking care of the ranch said the wind started blowing. Looks like fall finally is coming in. I'm ready for it since it's been too dry and too many fires.

That sounds quite nasty travelling. It seems you're just about missing out on autumn. Stay safe on the roads.

@andriaperry. Yeah. Very early snow up on the mountain. It makes me worry about down on my level.
