Thunderstorm rolling in.

Opened my window right next to my bed and heard the rain moving from the south until it was at my house (it's interesting to hear it), but then I began hearing thunder and starting to see the lightning. They had said in the PM there would be a chance of thunderstorms, but I figured it would be gone by the time I went to bed. Nope. So much for going to sleep early so I can be up early for the plumbers who are digging up our sewer line in the morning to replace it. Best laid plans and all that, I guess.

@jerzgirl I think it was last week I heard the big boom and heard the rain and was hard to fall asleep again but was glad I was inside and not out in it.

I love rain. It puts me right to sleep. But the sound and light show can get in the way.

@Hannihar It's the same in the American Southwest. Their rainy season starts around August and the desert comes alive!

Seasonal storms can be like that, especially where the restoration are regularly hot.

We've been having a lot of rain this past week. Plus all of the hurricane remnants work their way to the north east.

When I lived in Utah, the mountains helped keep the thunderstorms short. Here in the east, they can feel like they don't want to end.

No, I didn't. It was a creative Commons image I found that I thought fit the Philadelphia area.

I used to dread them, but for the first time in my life, I'm actually enjoying them. That was a surprise when I realized it.
