I took what else I could down from my succa today

I was either going to take the walls down tomorrow or Sunday before my handyman comes but decided to do it now. I could not put my swing chair back up so put on the ground and will ask him to put it back where it goes on the hook. It is such a beautiful day so decided to put the laundry on the porch to dry. I feel bad for my cat because she enjoyed it but it was going to go down anyways on Sunday. It was very dirty so cleaned up too. So, I will have to say goodbye to I hope next year we will be here and can go up again. It is sad to take it down because that really means the holidays are over this time of year.

@JudyEv This holiday and taking my succa down brings me to admit that it really is over and back to normal life again. That is why it is sad to me.

@FayeHazel Before I moved here I never had one. I wanted one so so bad to feel more a part of the holiday. Now, I have one and love it so much. I loved to just sit inside it and my cat just loved it. I hated to take down the walls but on Sunday they would be down anyway till next year. I need to find a way when can afford to so Sophie can go on the porch in winter. I do not want her out there because of the rain.

@bunnybon7 Bonnie, sorry you feel that way about holidays there. Ours are very important and very special to us. Sukkot will be back next year again. Our next holiday is Hannuka where we light candles and the holiday lasts for 8 days. That will be the beginning of December.

@marlina I hated saying goodbye to our succa but I felt worse for my cat because she loved it so much and so far cannot find a solution for her to be out on the open porch in winter when it rains.

It is nice to be in a succa, I hope you had a good time in it. Autumn is coming, and you don't want to keep the succa out. The wind and the rain can damage it and make some mess. Hope to talk about it next year.

What did you build yours out of? Interesting that this Holiday celebrates Exodus, and is a time of joy, but the sukkah also symbolizes the ephemeral nature of human life.

@TheHorse You are switching up holidays here. Passover is the holiday of our Exodus. Sukkot is a very joyous holiday. My handyman built the succa the first year I had one living here. They did not have the material he needed because my porch is small. The bars are metal and you will see the roof and around the succa. I am going to put a picture here for you to see.
