What a difference a week makes

Last week the temperatures were mild and late summer. Not bad for sitting at a picnic table and eating and chatting about not much. Today we walked our sidewalk mile with the pups then decided we'd picnic even though the temperatures were pretty edgy. I made a tasty cous cous salad this afternoon and two individual apple pies. We also had store hummus with the salad. It was a good meal but the second I got into my car seat I switched its heater on full blast. I don't know how the homeless folks manage. I wish them well. It felt like we were going to turn into popsicles as we ate our supper tonight!

I hate getting so cold. It really makes me ache. I put the heater on last night for a while too. Just to warm me up before I went to bed.

@JudyEv Cold in Australia? That sounds so foreign to me.

@sallypup We actually get a few frosts here each year! But no snow.

@JudyEv That's amazing. Still, a few frosts sounds ducky to me.

Really? It was 90 today and around 80 with 1,000% humidity while I walked at dark.

@andriaperry 50s is still above freezing. In just weeks our temps could stay below freezing for over a month. I dread that reality.

I always wonder about homeless people, even though our climate is not as harsh as yours.

@marguicha But in your climate I imagine folks could get too hot if they were out in the weather all the time. Poor folks.

@wolfgirl569 We did though Leah dog got a bit of school while we were there. She is reactive and afraid of other dogs. A lady with an old dog and a handsome Doberman walked a ways from us. It was good for Leah to get the idea that other dogs could be in her sight but weren't going to hurt her.

@sallypup Glad that it hopefully helped her. Duke is a problem with males and then I have Bambi who just is not strange dog friendly at all. But they both mind their manners 96 percent of the time out in public.

@wolfgirl569 Its a process with Leah and I am pretty sure she will never be 'normal.' Leah is also up to about 99 fat pounds instead of 85. This is why her and I work on heeling manners and paying attention to me the human. So.... sitting tied to the picnic table and watching other dogs from a distance is part of the journey.

The northwest weather has definitely changed, but no ice here yet.

Your meal sounds delicious to me, but I can't bear being cold. I would have eaten in the car!
