Doc, Please Don’t Make Me Wait That Long

Waiting for your physician to arrive in their clinics is a test of patience. Not when you’re not feeling well because there's tendency that it worsen your condition.
It is understandable that sometimes they’re late on their standard clinic hours because they also have regular rounds in hospitals they’re tied with.
If you already book your appointment, you can estimate or you already have the idea on the probable hour of your turn but if not, you really need to wait from the beginning especially if you are not the first patient to arrive so should stay there and wait for your turn.
I have this kind of doctor although I like the way he treated his patients, there are just times that I need to wait that long. Even if I was the first patient to arrive, I need to wait the indefinite time of arrival because of the reason mentioned earlier.
I also like this doctor because he’s not the usual check and prescribe type because he would give you time to listen on his explanation that would lasts almost half an hour (too bad for the next patient in a hurry).
It’s not like only a consultation but kind of education as well. You can dig deeper about your complaint because you have given the time to understand your illness. Unlike with other doctors who are quick to perform their task and that’s all. Perhaps it depends on us also on how we want to stay whether we want it to be quick or want longer to discuss more about your condition.
I notice sometimes that charges vary. I think you have to pay additional amount if check up takes a bit longer. I don’t know if they have a standard time of limit for that but somehow. They have standard pricing but sometimes, I pay more than that.
Is your trip to clinic gone well all the time?

I may not know him well but I think he's a kind doctor. I have this health care program renewable every year and part of the benefits are free consultation on their accredited doctors and some free lab tests and discounts on other test. I visited those doctors because of the free consultation but I did not like the services. I go back to that doctor even if it's not free.

I can relate to your post, my friend. During my wife monthly check-up to her OB-Gyn, the doctor schedule hours is 10 in the morning but she usually arrives at 11 or 12 noon.

@simplfred I think we need more doctors. Other doctors I have visited are really full. They would cater 15 or so patients in their morning shift and the same for afternoon but they never ran out of patients everyday.

The better the doctors are the more like that he will get strong followers and it means long waiting time to avail of his/her services. I think that the better the doctor the more he will get patients to attend to.
So for now, we really have to be patient when dealing with your favourite doctor.

that is how my cardiologist sees me. his clinic hours start at 2:30 so i have to have my laboratory examination first. he checks me up for 30 minutes even though he prescribes the same medications to me.
by the way too, i do not pay his consultation fee. we both belong to health profession and he knows me for about 20 years now. his son is my son's close friend way back in high school when both our sons studied in the same university, same section as well.

@ilocosboy Perhaps. But they're accepting limited numbers of patient a day so that they could cater all.

I can agree with you I hate that time I have to wait for my dentist to show up. In many occasions I consider going away but again I can’t trade my body
