How would you feel?

How would you feel if you were having bad health issues that would not let you climb stairs well, walk much and had no income, and you and your 18 year old daughter have to move. Your daughter says she will find a place that you both can move to and she will pay until you can find income. The mother finds a basement, private entrance, 1 bathroom and bedroom, sleep sofa in living room and small kitchennette. Convenient location to stores and bus. It hasn’t been seen yet and the daughter says,”No” Then the daughter shows up the next day with her boyfriend’s mother and her pick up truck abruptly tells you that you need to pack quickly and gets upset that you are not getting the boxes out on the sidewalk fast enough. They make 2 trips in the pick up truck to your new home then returns to get you. You have no cell phone. You get here to find that the home is dirty and the room is all the way up a steep staircase. You are sharing a kitchen on the main floor. There is no one else home that speaks English anyway.. The daughter leaves and says she is returning but never does! Before she leaves she tells you that there is cable tv and wifi access, but there is not and the rent there is about $125 more than the basement you had found that only had a total of 4 steps Then a few hours later the window air conditioner begans to leak on the floor and hurting you are scattering to keep your boxes from getting wet. You put some on the bed that only has a plastic cover on it. Looking you cannot find a box with the sheets Next morning you see a roommate that speaks English and she shows you her room with no AC and the window nailed shut! Then I manage to get downstairs where she shows me where the heater is surrounded by boxes and appliances as well as the back yard! Takes me into the laundry room to show me the washer does not work. Plus I am also told we cannot turn the centeral AC on, there is no cable or wifi and we cannot get our mail there. Two days later authorities come and condemn the house that the place is a health hazard, obviously!!!!!!!!! And that all that stuff could cause a major explosion around the furnace!!!!!!!! Then the daughter would not come back to move you out after you had to walk a mile to a bus, then walk another mile to a relatives house to call her. So what would you think how the daughter felt about you?

Also, she was old enough for me not to tell her what to do (I couldn’t by law), sign a lease and go where she wants.

Huh... This is not a good situation, not at all. Is there no one else that could help you? Sorry, I don't like the way your daughter treats you. I don't know your history, but it seems she doesn't care much...

What ended up happening was my elderly mom and uncle had a cripple friend drive yhem over and they helped me get stuff down those stairs and to their house. Someone else came over with my daughter and got some heavier stuff out, but said that is all they could do. She still tells me today ( we are sharing an apartment) that I didn’t appreciate her helping me. SMH! She doesn’t understand how I feel that she wanted me to possibly be stuck there and be in the explosion

@dfollin I saw this before. Even in my family. You may think that there are people that should help you, but the truth is you are the only one that can do something, when in need, people that help are rare. Even if they are family.

This does not sound like a good thing to do to anyone. Very sad. This might be why many rely on strangers and neighbors.

We all seem to have our issues to deal with in life. I hope this situation works out smoothly.
