It's Here, Friday, Hurray!

Most weeks it is nice when Friday arrives but this week there are two reasons for me to welcome its coming.
The first is that today is the last day of testing for my students. We only have one short bit to do this morning and then, after a chance to relax and decompress and put my room back in order, we can get back to actual learning.
The second is that today is the day my son and I leave for a weekend of camping we feared was not going to happen. I spent a good part of the time after I got home yesterday preparing for our trip.

What is it you look forward to most about Fridays and weekends?

@wolfgirl569 My missus and I have talked about me quitting my job to write full-time. This was before I left public school to teach where I am now. I wouldn't leave the school I'm at. I'm having too good a time.

@DWDavis Yep, quitting my job was the best decision ever. We have less money now, but I spend less too. So it mostly evens out except for needing to carry health insurance on me.

Down here in the south, outside of Federal employees, the military, and the Catholic community, many people hardly pay attention to Columbus Day. Other than the banks, most businesses stay open. Some private schools might close, but the public schools stay open.

This Friday happens to be my payday, so that is good. I am running around the state, going to quilt shops with a friend and that is another good thing for this weekend. I am beginning to settle back in at work and that is another. Of course, between doctor appointments and today's personal day I only had three days of work this week.

Have a wonderful trip. It's interesting to hear teachers express their views on testing. I never looked forward to it, but always did okay on them.
What I look forward to for Friday's. Today forward it will be the Small Group meeting, I'm hosting, and church on Sunday.
