I try to maintain a cheerful and happy disposition by filling my life with things I enjoy.

@ZedSmart I think so too! Can a person be sad when they are enjoying themselves?

@1hopefulman I think not. How come? Sadness only comes when you're alone I think.

I usually put music on soft gentle music to move the mood out and away does not work right away though.

I am very silent, not talking and just sitting or standing.

I think different people have diff coping mechanisms to fight depression in their lives. I have my own coping mechanism and part of that is as mavic has said is walking. There are times just being silent and be observant of my feelings why this is happening what triggers it and what do i do when that happens. Sometimes breathing could help a lot. It more or less is like meditation were you breath in and out at a certain pace. It silence the minds and the clutter can sometimes be fixed.

When sadness engulf me i just locked myself up inside my room and listen to my favorite songs. That way, it will slowly change my mood.

Whenever I am feeling sad, I just go to my Netflix account and watch movies and television series. Sometimes I go out and eat whatever I want.

I'm always sad ahahaha. No just kidding, when I'm upset the best thing for me is to draw or write, just vent and get it all out of my system. Or go for a long loooong walk and not think, just walk out my anger or sadness.
