Here we go again

Just two more days and I will be "on the road again." There was ice on the car's windshield this morning. This could be our final long road trip for this year cause I do not mess with mountain passes when snow and ice start up. Its a good day for me to round up stuff like train ticket info. And my camera's battery must be charged. I must have my little notebook that has phone numbers etc in it cause I don't have a smart phone. I am a low tech person. I will also be renting a car when we get to Oregon. I am not even bringing my laptop so when I log off perhaps Sunday morning, perhaps Saturday night, that's it folks. I will not be heard of from that time until Wednesday and possibly late then. So I need to quit yawning and start searching for paperwork and generally getting my act collected and in order.

@JamesHxstatic Hubby had really wanted to move to Albany but the house prices kept beating us up so we landed in southwestern Washington. Anyway, he'd made contacts with a prof in the university in Corvallis. We went down there so that he could talk about robots.

@JamesHxstatic I believe my hubby had a good time. I explored Corvallis while he talked with University people. I found two thrift stores and a food co-op.

Oh wow, you're taking a train? I wish we had one that would take me to Albuquerque, but then what the heck would I do with the kritters. I hope you have a safe and fun journey. See ya next week.

@rebelann Yes this is going to be one of the more complicated trips for us. We have decided to get our feet wet on what it could be like living West. We'll drive to a motel over there, then the next morning park the car at the house that we're buying (and renting out right now) then get a taxi to the train and head on down to Oregon. When we move and live there we will know what its like to use the train cause of this coming expedition. Right this second we live where its a pain to get to a train. One of the perks for moving will be easier to get public transportation. I am looking to the day when I won't be driving as much. Trying to plan ahead!

I wouldn't want to get to a point where I couldn't drive @sallypup I hate being a passenger and usually prefer to drive.

@rebelann I'm that way myself but facts are facts. I am pretty leery of getting on public buses. Cars feel so good and private! And yet I am not good at driving in horrible traffic and that is what Portland, Oregon has: hell traffic. Seattle does too. I am looking to ways to not be in such a rut as I am now. There's a lot of world out there that I am missing!

@wolfgirl569 Thanks. I don't think there is supposed to be nasty stuff in the mountains on the days we are heading over.
