Little Girl Update

After spending 2 and a half weeks being kept at he animal hospital so that she could be kept more confined so her broken hind leg (in two places) could be watched and her movement confined Little girl was able to come home as her leg according to the Vet is healing fine even without a splint (that they took off a couple of days after we decided to let them keep her as it was way cheaper than taking her in to replace the splint as it was always sliding). We are keeping her in a large cage right now as the Vet suggested to keep her from climbing and jumping from high places (though at night Sis is putting her in a smaller cage now that she is used to cage so she won't be alone in a room at night. They will XRay when we take her back on the first of next month or the lasts of shots along with her brother Little Man. Then she will be free from the cages and by that time Dixie will be use to her being around, (he and her brother were from a feral litter that the mom quit feeding and we took them in and kept them in Sis's room and nursed them and the plan is after Little Man gets his shots to be reintroduced outdoors and Little Girl will probably be a house kitty. So glad we found Vets that didn't agree with the emergency Vet who said a regular Vet would want to do surgery and probably take the leg off as it was a bad break. Would love to take her back and show that Vet how well she is doing. The Vet clinic we found said kittens are amazing in their ability to heal.

Bets at that clinic are. After seeing the first one on Monday and he told u what the emergency vet suggested would be done was going to be a last resort and an appointment was made to change the splint the emergency Vet put on the next Thursday the original splint slipped so Sis had to take her back to the emergency Vet who re applied a different type splint and he was quite upset that they did not do some type of surgery (either splint or amputation).

@Elizaby So now it should be okay seeing as she is in good enough condition to leave the clinic.

I hope that she continues on this successful road to recovery. It really is amazing how one vet's diagnosis and outlook can differ from that of anothers.

I am so happy to know that Little Girl is healing well. It would have been a shame to perform surgery, she will be fine and will be able to run again soon.

@Elizaby That's good she's being supervised and brother isn't around when she's out of her cage.

She is doing good though she is being caged except or potty and short supeervised play breaks while her brother is locked in the bathroom in sis's room while she plays in the bedroom under very watchful eyes to keep her from jumping

I'm glad your kitten is doing well. It's good to get a second opinion if your gut feeling says so.
