September was a month of changes

September was a month of change for my children, both were finalist at school in June. My daughter finished kindergarten while my son finished the primary school, so both have new schools now, my daughter is in the first grade and my son is in a bigger school now that he is in the 5th grade.
All children react differently in adapting to a new phase, my son was very enthusiastic while my daughter was a little anxious, both took some time to adapt to the change and to the new routine in their lives.
Although the classes started the same day and in different schools, I organized myself so that I could take them both to school on the first day of classes. I tried not to show my anxiety for leaving them alone in a new school, but inside I was more nervous and anxious than they were.
I have talked with them a lot, I help with their homework and I do not miss school meetings, I try to accompany them and always be present, especially in the moments that are most striking in their lives and now that three weeks have passed, I see them happy and totally integrated in the new schools. It was a good beginning
Do you have kids or grandkids in a new school this year?

That's what a good parent does, and you are doing such a terrific job of it! Congratulations to them both, too!
My granddaughter is also in the fifth grade. She applied and was accepted at a new school, too. She was nervous, so she visited the school and met her teacher in advance, and also had lunch with a girl who attends that school before school began. After her first day, she gave it the thumbs up. She made new friends and loves her teacher. We all want our kids and grandkids to be happy and healthy for life!
Wishing yours a wonderful school year ahead!

It's always nice to see the kids growing, especially stepping in another new stage in their life. So do the primary school in your country start from grade 1 to grade 4, then the students have to go to another higher school? Here, our primary school is from grade 1 to 6.
My kids are not in new school, as I am homeschooling them, so they are at home all the time. But my second child is going to start her formal education which is grade 1 soon - when she turns 7 next year.
Your kids are so sweet. The big boy helped the younger sister.

It is good that the primary in your country is until the 6th grade, children are bigger when they move to another school.
It is so nice that you are homeshooling your children

You are a good mother, Manuela! You realise how important it is to be there with support when it is need during those tender years :)
