A few weeks ago, my neighbor gave me a huge bag of his freshly picked pears from his own backyard.
I ended up eating some fresh and made some pear sauce with the balance.
It was so delicious that I will make more this week, but first I have to go to the fruit store to buy some.
I used to make apple sauce, but now I prefer to make the pear sauce, no so acidic.
Do you make those kinds of sauce too?

@marlina- I have never made pear sauce, but I used to make apple sauce in my slow cooker. Delicious! I love to eat fresh pears from the Farmer's Market, though.

@DeborahDiane , Yes, it would taste delicious with the pears or a combination of pears and apples.

@marlina - I'll have to try making it sometime. Sounds wonderful. When I was on a diet, I used to cut up apples, add cinnamon, and cook them in my slow cooker. It made the house smell delicious. It also made a wonderful, warm chunky applesauce. I would serve it at parties for desert with a little dollop of whipped cream on top. Mmmmmm. I bet it would wonderful to do the same thing with pears.

@marlina no, it tastes good even without anything, not even condensed milk. as long as it is chilled, it already tastes good for dessert

We also have that here, they are imported and a bit expensive. But they are so delicious indeed.

Pears have quite a bland taste don't they? I have a dessert recipe where pear halves are topped with a dab of butter that has had curry powder blended in it then heated. They are really tasty.

Oh I love pears, especially the green fragrant ones. We usually just have the yellowish Chinese pear here and I don't like them.

I love pears though I never tried making anything from it except for using it in fruit custard.
