A few weeks ago, my neighbor gave me a huge bag of his freshly picked pears from his own backyard. I ended up eating some fresh and made some pear sauce with the balance. It was so delicious that I will make more this week, but first I have to go to the fruit store to buy some. I used to make apple sauce, but now I prefer to make the pear sauce, no so acidic. Do you make those kinds of sauce too?

Yes I do, instead of apple butter I can make pear butter, taste the same. What is balance?

About balance: sorry, I think it is a French word, I should have used " the rest of the pears".

I used to make my own applesauce when we had apple trees in our yard. That was when my kids were little.

We had a house once with l/2 acre of land and tons of pear trees. I baked a lot of pears crumble and made pear sauce, tons of it.

@marlina- I have never made pear sauce, but I used to make apple sauce in my slow cooker. Delicious! I love to eat fresh pears from the Farmer's Market, though.

A pear sauce is about the same as an apple sauce. Less acidic to me.

@marlina - I'll have to try making it sometime. Sounds wonderful. When I was on a diet, I used to cut up apples, add cinnamon, and cook them in my slow cooker. It made the house smell delicious. It also made a wonderful, warm chunky applesauce. I would serve it at parties for desert with a little dollop of whipped cream on top. Mmmmmm. I bet it would wonderful to do the same thing with pears.

@marlina no, it tastes good even without anything, not even condensed milk. as long as it is chilled, it already tastes good for dessert

@marlina I have no idea all the fruit here is really terrible Marlina. It is awful to try to get a bit of fruit. The only kind that is okay is bananas.

I do my pear sauce the same way that I do my apple sauce, Cut up the fruits, put in a pan, add just a small amount of sugar, a little water and cinnamon and cook them until I like it. That's it!

The pear sauce is very similar to apple sauce, I like it better as I find the pears less acidic.
