Hurricane Michael is heading this way and can hit anywhere in Florida as a Category 3 or larger storm. I need to get things ready in case I need to evacuate. I may not have time to answer all of my notifications right away. I will catch up as soon as possible. Praying for all those in the path of this thing.

@LadyDuck Thanks, me too. If I do, I plan to bring a book or two to read. My phone only lasts a few hours so I won't have it if the electricity fails.

I have some supplies packed and will head over to the church if the cops say to evacuate. They come through the park with their loudspeakers on and go up and down every street ordering people to leave.

Where are you? The hurricane is slowing down and they are saying it will make landfall on Thursday morning.

@amadeo We went to a school to ride out the worst of the storm. My son does not live with me now so I am on my own. I don't know what I will do yet.

@akalinus Here our state is going to face the onslaught of the storm Titli.The storm will hit the coastal area tomorrow morning.Fortunately we are in the western part.Here also the sky has been heavily clouded since morning.

I read just moments ago that the governor of Florida is already ordering mandatory evacuations for some communities most likely to be hardest hit. Have you received any notification as yet? Either way, play it safe and move out of the path of this thing if you are near the coast or a waterway.

I am inland so don't have to deal with storm surge. Wind and rain are the worst. Wind can be very damaging, it twisted my windows around during Irma. Two houses here blew into the middle of a street and into a field.

It just now turned into a category 4. I think it is headed north of us from looking at the spaghetti models. They look like we will be clean and green but I know we will get heavy rain and wind.

I guess Michael is going to come along and dump more water on top of what Florence dumped. Our schools were out for 3 weeks. I hope they don't have to miss more. Stay safe.

@akalinus Our house is fine, and we are all fine. Many were not so fortunate. There are still areas where people can't get back into their neighborhoods yet.

I sometimes wonder whether these storms are being manipulated. The suddenly change course sharply, like someone is playing with it. I am probably wrong but just think about it sometimes.
