Today (10/9) the nominees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's "Class of 2019" were announced. The nominees are: The Cure Def Leppard Devo Janet Jackson Kraftwerk LL Cool J MC5 Stevie Nicks John Prine Radiohead Rage Against the Machine Roxy Music Rufus featuring Chaka khan Todd Rundgren The Zombies My votes will go to Prine (obviously), the Cure, Roxy Music, Rundgren, and Kraftwerk. My guesses are that the winners will be Def Leppard, Radiohead, Rage Against, Stevie Nicks, Rundgren, LL Cool J, and maybe the Zombies. Fans can vote, but the entire tally of votes that an artist gets only adds one vote to his/her/their total. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees the Zombies and their hit "Time of the Season":
(c) & (p) Marquis Enterprises Ltd It's the time of the season When love runs high In this time, give it to me easy And let me try with pleasured hands To tak...

Obviously for Cure, Devo and Roxy Music. Rage gets in just for politics. John Prine? Really? You would vote for him?

Our son played for John Prine on one of his earlier recordings. I love his songs.

I voted for The Cure (obviously,) Radiohead (obviously,) Prine, Devo, Roxy Music, and I am totally drawing a blank on the last one. I didn't vote for Stevie Nicks or Def Leppard, because they are going to get in anyway.

That's what I figured. Stevie Nicks is already in (as a member of Fleetwood Mac), so she'll go in again as a solo act. We'll all be surprised if Def Leppard doesn't make it.

@FourWalls - They are this year's Bon Jovi. Not that they don't deserve it. High N Dry was a great album.

Brittney Spears is not a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee. Technically, she's not even eligible for five more years (although I don't see her getting nominated...although stranger things have happened). Led Zeppelin was inducted in 1995, three years before Spears' first album was released.

The Zombies are an interesting pick. Their most productive period was from 1961-68. With only 2 hits on the UK/US charts that selection was a surprise to me. Todd had both a successful recording and producing career. Nice choice.
