I want to share something with you

Yesterday morning I got a message that my half sister died on Sunday. It was Wednesday when I got the message. She was my father's daughter by another marriage. I called my Rabbi to see what I am suppose to do. According to Jewish Law we have to mourn our parents 7 days, then 30 days we can work and do errands, and grocery shopping but cannot do to weddings ,etc and also for a year we cannot do it either. For a brother or sister you sit 7 days and then 30 days cannot do anything. In this case I only had to be off the computer and no TV yesterday only and today can go back to my life again. In order to know for sure what to do is best to contact a Rabbi and ask. My Uncle just passed away and now my half sister in a short period of time. I have not seen him or her in ages so we were not close. So wanted to explain why I was not here since early morning yesterday.
