Day after road trip

I'm back. I admit it right this minute that I am brain dead. This will be my day to nap and not do much cause I've been on the go since Sunday. Our trip went well. The small town cab company turned out to be on the ball. I drove my car from our motel to the house that we'll move into in a few years and parked it in its back yard. The renter said that our car would not be safe at the train station. Our train ride lasted almost five hours. I loved watching the highway traffic, sitting in my seat, not having to deal with steering around those big trucks. When we got to Oregon, we walked to the rental car lot. Our rental vehicle turned out to be much larger than I'd asked for. I got through the learning curve and triumphantly returned it to the lot the next afternoon scratch free. I sure am not used to touching a button to make a car engine roar to life! The photo shows my hubby standing next to our now painted clawfoot tub. Sooner than later the tub man will paint its bear feet silver and put them on. The tub was made in 1935. I hope all is well in everyone's world. I'm listening to an audio book and thinking about taking an ibuprofen to dull a headache.

Our new-to-us car starts with the push of a button. It does take getting used to.

@JudyEv It felt like magic when I started it. There was so much to figure out on the dash. I tried to not look at 'stuff' when I was driving.

@sallypup I know what you're saying. The best thing about ours (it's always the trivial stuff that intrigues me) is that it has heated seats. How cool/warm is that?

@JudyEv A friend of mine drives a huge SUV that has heated seats. I never got around to checking for that feature on the rented mobile. I did note that I could use my Smart phone with the vehicle. I just don't have a Smart phone!

Hope that headache goes away. So, how far is the train station from your house?

Would your hubby have any trouble walking those 2 miles if push came to shove @sallypup ?

@rebelann Good question. Its me not him that has walking issues. I think we'd be able to do it. We have hiked 2.6 miles around a lake- for fun. I am not as solid on my pins as I used to be. I do water aerobics to try to strengthen my muscles.

@rebelann Thanks. My job is to confuse everyone. The train station is about two miles from the house that we will live in- in about three years, we'll live there.

@GardenGerty Thanks. I am trying to not be anxious at seeing it sit in an actual bathroom!

That ride on the train sounds fun! I’ve always wanted to go on a long train ride! The tub looks great! I would love a claw foot tub. They are very heavy! We had an old cast iron tub here when we moved in but it wasn’t a claw foot. The top layer had worn down so it looked stained all the time. It would have been very costly to have painted over with fresh porcelain so we just bought a new plastic tub.

@shaggin The train ride was quite peaceful. I hope this re-done tub lasts a long, long time. Its an antique; I'm relying on the guy who says he knows how to refurbish the tub.
