rainy days!

It has been raining every day here for the past few days. My daughter has been telling "Today is rainy day" every day since then. It's good to have rains sometimes, as we won't feel so hot. It's always very hot in tropical country, with the rain, at least we feel slightly colder and not so stuffy. I don't need to water my plants too. But as we don't have dryer, the clothes might not get dried when we hang them outside. The kids might not be able to go to the park in the evening if it's too heavy rain and there's thunder and lightning. On Monday, even though the rain has stopped, the nearby park we always go to was flooded. We tried to walk around as my eldest son wanted to play basketball, but we just couldn't unless we drive there through another entrance. I suppose there are traffic jam here and there too. How's the weather over there? Do you like rainy days?

Here we can only dream about rain. It is cooler now (amazing as normally it would be quite hot still - this year we are actually getting some autumn weather). But no rain. We were supposed to have rain last Wednesday . . . a possible storm . . . but all we got were a few drops and that's it . . . I never believe the weather forecast for rain anymore. I live in the same area as I did when I was a kid. We did have a lot of rain back then - thunder and lightning too - I have felt the climate change here through the years. I do love rain and wish we actually had rainy days again! When my parents went to Japan in the summer a few years back, they stayed at my grandmother's house - she did not have a dryer. My mom told me that it was so humid there that the clothes she hung to dry would not dry.

I didn't know rainy days are not common in some countries or areas. I didn't know there might not be Autumn weather as well, I always thought it's 3 months of each season. It's nice to know different culture and weather from different countries. It's very humid here in Malaysia as well. I didn't know about it until I went to Australia. The difference is really obvious. I didn't know the humidity in Japan is high too. So, your grandmother is still staying in Japan?

@kaka135 Believe it or not, it is raining NOW, just as I write! It started tonight - we have not had rain of even this length in a lonnnnng time. Even thunder a couple times!! But I highly doubt it will last any longer than tonight. Yes, it doesn't rain much here . . . we have been in a drought for years. Autumn gets rather "lost" here - and we don't get those fabulous colors of autumn. Things are already brown from the heat of continuous summer! But here I mean this area of Southern California - it's not like this throughout our country or even state! Well, my grandmother passed away a few years ago. By now, my uncle had torn down her over 100 year old house to try to get money from selling her land. But she led a modest life . . . like I said no dryer - and I think her stove was running with propane gas! I guess it gets humid in Japan more than here, but not as humid as the more tropical countries. For now, I am staying up to enjoy the rain. It's not often we get this . . . I think the plants will be happy for tomorrow anyway .

So you are expecting cold weather in Philippines too, right? It's nice that you can experience Winter there. I like cold weather as well.

@kaka135 cold weather is fine. I'm tired of the sweltering heat here in Manila.

This year it seems the weather is strange. But it is good that there is no flood or typhoon in your side.

Oh yes, it's nice to see the sun, even though it can be hot. I suppose Autumn won't be too hot in US, right?

Rainy days are important here as the land can sometimes get very dry. It isn't often that it rains every day for long periods.

Yes, I think the land really needs to have water. I told my little boy, the plants, trees, flowers and even grass are thirsty, hence here comes the rain. He always repeat it whenever it rains.

@kaka135 You would get more rain than us. It's not often we have it day after day for weeks which I think you sometimes do.

We have pleasant weather today, but expecting rain soon with light breezes. I only like light rain, when I'm home. When I need to go out I pray for pleasant and dry weather for I ride the bus. It's so sad when there's too much rain. Hope it gets sunny so your children can play in the park.

Yes, it's quite troublesome if we need to go out when it's raining. It can be quite messy too. I don't mind raining when I am staying at home, as it's so cozy and cold to stay at home, especially taking a nap.

@kaka135 And how. I like when I'm out and about to be cloudy for we get cloud cover, but rain when I'm at home please. You are so right it does get very messy. I like to wear a rain coat, so I try to stand when I'm riding the bus...when I sit I get stares from other bus riders for the raincoat is wet.
