Even with a porch light it is hard to find a black cat in the dark, and she wants back out. Not happening. It is bed time. Crazy old lady Princess kitty.

She has always been an indoor/outdoor cat. When it gets really cold she will quit asking.

Cats love to roam in the night.

She likes to guard our yard. She has several places where she waits to see who or what comes by. It is cold out there and too close to Halloween for her to be out in the dark.

Sure it did, in the less than five minutes it took her to snarf down some cat food.

@wolfgirl569 I worry more about foxes, coyotes, stray dogs or cats and snakes coming into my yard. Not to mention possums and the occasional armadillo.

@GardenGerty Dogs tell the same story lol. But I do have a fenced yard for them. Cats are a lot harder to contain.

Cats are such sneaky characters. They love to put one over on their humans.

Black cats on a dark night could go missing very easily.

Spooky came in and ate, walked over to me and us under the chair with his head by my foot, he missed me while company was here.

Cats do not like their routine changed, and some of them really dislike strangers.

@GardenGerty Cats are wise and they know a lot more than what they can tell us outright. Our dog would be barking at something we could not see but for him it was there.

Yes, they should. We make her come in. That is why I was looking for her in the dark.

It sort of sounds like a lead in to a joke.

@GardenGerty I almost stepped on the black kitten of my neighbors early this morning. He was on our doormat, silly kitty.

Wouldn't be able to see her here either, as our back light is not bright at all. Good to keep her in.

She just does not think it is going to really get cold or that anyone will get her. It is an evening routine to get her in.
