It was starting to get cloudy in this hot and humid afternoon but my wife and I went to the Freedom Park at the provincial capitol area to view to various booths of different cities and municipalities of our province. I had a great time taking photos and the attached photo of the booth of one city is among those that stood out among them. Yesterday was the the start of 10 days of exhibits at the capitol grounds to celebrate the Buglasan Festival which showcases the various tourist sites and crafts of its cities and municipalities. It was already dark when we finished seeing all the booths and it started to shower when we reached home :)

Wow, that is so creative of those who made that very, big and beautiful abaca crafted bag. No wonder, it is among those that stood out. I suppose there are lots of foods showcased fro every town and city that participated.

@SIMPLYD "budbod sa Tanjay" is suman from Tanjay City and it's very sticky and yummy. Baye-baye is also parang kakanin from Bayawan City in the south. It's made of sticky rice which they grind and mixed with coconut.

Yes, I think they had. Some of the beautiful booths have not been dismantled and will still be displayed at "Pasko sa Kapitolyo".

Buglasan comes from the word "buglas" which used to be in abundance in the province. It's a certain kind of reed. The "perya" will come after the Buglasan Festival as there's no more space for them at the site. The "perya" is in the nearby town of Valencia (the little Baguio of Negros) which celebrated its town fiesta on October 12. This one's for you, Miss Arbie :)

Buglasan comes from the word "buglas" which is a certain kind of reed which was in abundance in the province long before, In fact, they say that the original name of the province of Negros Oriental was Buglas.
