A Dinner Invitation / myLot

Happy Sunday Everyone! My oldest daughter invited us for dinner tonight so we'll be having a late lunch/dinner. She enticed me to leave the house on this chilly day with my favorite....lasagna! I was going to make a pot of chicken soup today but her invitation keeps me from cooking and I'll probably make the soup tomorrow. Now I'm going to bake a cake to bring so we'll have a nice dessert. I have to see what kind of cake to make....either chocolate or vanilla. Can't go wrong with either. It got so cold overnight that the heat came on. It almost went down to the freezing temperatures and I guess summer has finally given up. Brrrrr I'm back to long pants and a long sleeve shirt today and will have to put on socks when I leave the house later. I've become so accustomed to barefeet and short sleeves that I almost feel confined with the warmer clothes. So, my friends, that's what happening in my little corner of the myLot world. What's going on with you today?

It is snowing yay! The temp is hovering around 20F right now. I hope you have a lovely dinner then and that cake will be delicious too.

@Courage7 Wow, that is so amazing. I'm in Southwestern Ontario, and its mild here, but eventually the snow will arrive. I'll probably have to get my winter tires put on sometime during the month of November.

That was awfully nice of your daughter to prepare your favorite meal and have you over. I'm the same way it seems as far as what to wear where. I have a nice pair of shoes that have an exposed toe and heel, and those I'll wear when its mild and I want to go barefoot, otherwise its socks in the shoes if its really cool.

@Marilynda1225 It is much easier to do up a 9 by 13 pan then anything smaller when it comes to lasagna. I have done really small ones, the size is about 4 by 6, and it only does 1 meal, which is fine with me because we have enough left overs of everything else it seems. Now you've got me in the mood to make some. I don't have cheese that is needed, so maybe next weekend after I get the ingredients. Today is mild enough to grill steaks.

Lasagna is hard to make for a few people so when my daughter makes a big tray she always invites us or brings us leftovers. Since it's Sunday and nothing is going on with the grandkids we got the invitation and I'm so looking forward to family time

Making a pineapple upside down cake right now. I haven't had one in years. Lasagna..yum! So many ways to prepare it, and all are good!

Lasagna is my favorite when it comes to pasta and yes, there are so many ways to prepare it....all yummy I haven't had pineapple upside down cake in ages. Enjoy it

I will mow the backyard today, for the dogs. Its back to summer here, thank God. its in the 80`s. Winter clothes make me feel like I am in a straight jacket.

The days are still warm, the nights cool, but not cold. I am making tortellini, so I have them ready in case we need to have something hot for dinner. The filling is done, now I have to make the dough.

The pants I put on yesterday are slightly shorter than I'm used to and I was surprised that my ankles felt so cold. I had to go find myself some nice long socks.

I still wear shorts and tanks in the winter, even outside

also go barefoot alot

@Marilynda1225 Summer is still here but coming to an end. We are having cool mornings and cool nights and pretty soon the rain will come and winer will come and then layers.
