Standing behind her in the shadows He could not let her see his face It would have put everything all his plans and all his work Everyone´s safety would be at risk Yet she knew that it was him and what exactly he was doing She asked him if he was the Scarlet Pimpernel Affirmed with a yes She shuddered and thought about her brother whose very life was in danger He was thinking of how to rescue the Dauphin the future King of France From that dreadful place in which the boy had been placed His guise was one of affluence and being rather foolish His guise was a very clever one Playing the fool and keeping it cool He fathomed up ways to get the people out Many did he rescue that Scarlet Pimpernel Many did he rescue from their own living hell. This is my own version of the Film made in 1982 with Anthony Andrews, and Jane Seymour and the wicked whats his name sorry tops I can´t pronounce that one yet Ian McKlellan played him the one who plays "The Lord Of The Rings". I am not into whether the Scarlet Pimpernel really existed or not its about what he did and his bravery and courage to stamp out the terror. It might be fiction or it might well be true and there might have been other "Scarlet Pimpernels" also that might never been mentioned anywhere so this is to all of them that never got a mention either for all their hard work and efforts to save many many lives rich or poor. I thinks its a great Film and well played with none and no need of violence in a lot of the Films we see now.

Sir Ian McKellen, played Gandalf in The Lord of the rings and played Paul Chauvelin in this film. Not seen it, as far as I am aware.

Yes he played Gandalf althought I could hardly recognise him at first because I had not seen him in ages.

You have to sit down and see it sometime and I don´t watch the very start of it as its way too sad for me at least I like the other parts of it where he is working to rescue them from a fate that was very locked in and severe no way out in other words.

Thank you its a sort of poem about where the Scarlet Pimpernel meets Marguerite in the Library and he does not want to be known at that time. Very good film considering what they make now.

Its a great story and I think there was a real hero except that I suppose only a certain amount of people will say that he was. The rest might pooh him away and say he was pure fantasy. I don´t know it seems that there was more than one here in those very troubled times in France.
