Would You Go If Invited?

I've watched many movies where in one of the scenes a séance was being held. "A séance or seance is an attempt to communicate with spirits. The word "séance" comes from the French word for "session", from the Old French seoir, "to sit". In French, the word's meaning is quite general: one may, for example, speak of "une séance de cinéma"." (Source: Wikipedia) However in real life I've never attended such a gathering. WHY? Well for one thing I was never invited. Actually though even if I were invited I would not attend. WHY? ~ I don't believe in it. ~ I don't really want to talk to any of my dead relatives or friends. They might be in a place of torment experiencing some things I don't even want to know about. I don't want to know. I would rather keep my memories of their life. ~ I don't see any reason to trust a so-called "medium". I don't know any that perform this service for free. FUN FACT: There are three sisters given credit for holding the First Public Séances in 1904. They became famous and held séances for the rich and powerful. Wouldn't you know it? Their last name was Fox. * * * What about you? Would you attend a séance, if you were invited? It was directed by Fritz Lang and released in 1922.” (Wikipedia) Interesting Article: Grimes, David Robert. “Science of the Seance: Why Speaking to Spirits Is Talking to Yourself.” The Guardian, Guardian News and Media, 30 Oct. 2015, theguardian.com/science/blog/2015/oct/30/science-of-the-seance-why-speaking-to-spirits-is-talking-to-yourself.

I use to do them all the time when I was younger and didn't care lol, but now today I don't think I would go as I no more now than I did back then. But if I did go I would just stay out of the way and let them do there thing.

I believe in mediums and I am a bit sensitive myself, I do not want to get involved, you never know what could happen.

So many mediums have been proven to be frauds and I think it's the lowest of the low when someone takes advantage of people who are believing and trusting in them. I'm extremely sensitive about trust violations and betrayals. It takes a ruthless callous mindset to do things like that to people who are no doubt already hurting badly from the loss of a loved one. Grief is hard enough to bear. But to have someone take advantage of you in your weakened state? It's a pernicious act that is incredibly cruel.

@cmoneyspinner There are many fake mediums as there are many fake professionals and all of them take advantages of those are more in need. Bankers who take advantages of a widow who needs money because the deceased husband left her nothing are not better.

@LadyDuck - I agree. Sometimes I wonder if these lowlifes compete with each other. One brags "See how low I can go!" The other brags back "I can lower than that." I say that because some of the schemes people come up to defraud another person ... it's stuff that could only come from a warped mind. And they go to such extremes to pull off the scam. Then when they caught, they're not even sorry. They're just angry they got caught! It's unbelievable!

I would never. As much as I like horror films,i would never meddle with it in real life since the consequences can be really scary

I wouldn't go. There just seems to be too much potential for stuff I'd rather not know about.

I'd go. I'd never been in to one, I'd like to experience it even once.
