On the Pacific Crest Trail. It is an awesome experience to set foot on this famous thru hiking trail. This trail is 2, 659 miles long and reaches from the Mexican Border town of Campo and ends on the Canada border of Manning Park in British Columbia. It reaches from sea level to 13,153 feet, and passes through 25 national forests. This was my first baby steps on this great trail at the Kitchen Creek area just outside of Campo.

Big grin, yes it was! And it was a great movie. I loved the beginning where she is saying what did I do??!!! hahaha This is why I wont be hiking the thru trail, but I do plan on working my way up to the 20 mile hikes, and since this is literally outside my back door, why not start here.

How cool! On this side of the country it's the Appalachian Trial, which runs from Maine to Georgia. The two must be a hiker's "holy grail" of accomplishments!

Thank you @Four Walls! Yes, it is indeed the AT on the other side. This is how I started getting into hiking. My 30 year old son is training for that trail The great AT! He is planning on heading out in the spring of 2020! I found that I really love hiking, and am going on short hikes with him.

No, but I do plan on working up to the 20 mile a day hikes. Do some over nighters..who knows where it will lead. But I just don't see myself doing a thru-hike.

@NormanDarlo Yes, It's those you have to watch out for right?!! The cats and bears here are so timid around this area, I have only seen a bear once, and two cats in 30 yrs.
