You can lose all the weight you want and still eat your cravings, I did

The year before retiring I was very chubby. I always loved my sweets and starchy foods like lots of mashed potatoes and anything that was fattening. I lost 65 pounds and still ate my favorite things like candy, ice cream and all the no, no's on most diets. I realized that I never really needed all my cravings in large amounts, I just needed a taste. I did just that and after a few months the pounds kept coming off and my co-workers were amazed. A few times a week I still would go to my favorite ice cream drive through and instead of ordering my large chocolate shake, I ordered the smallest one I could get, sometime even a sample. When it gets down to it, we want to taste the food we crave, we really do not need to eat a huge dish of anything. If I had cake, I had the smallest piece I could get and sometimes share it with others or put it in the refrigerator for the next day. I always had my craving and it satisfied me. I am no more little miss pudgy and I love hearing all the compliments. If I was going on vacation or to something special, I would order the smallest dessert on the menu. The feeling of losing so much weight was the biggest thrill I could get. If I could do it, so can you. Think positive thoughts. I am always near to help you on your journey or answer any questions.

I agree with your method. Portion control is important! Many people say that if they completely ban their favorite foods, they are more likely to binge on them when they have a weak moment. Congrats on your weight loss!

I always have tiny portions, just enough to appreciate the taste of what I like. I do not need to eat a lot.

Right Anna. I wished I started that long ago but at least I learned it and corrected myself.

That's a great way to satisfy a sugar rush.... Many eat sweets when stressed. I know I can be guilty of doing that

Congrats! I will keep in mind your post for I too am trying to slim down and watch my sugar intake too. I found no sugar added pumpkin pie yesterday and bought the whole pie and eating it and enjoying it immensely!!! I will try to remember what you did to loose your weight and wish me luck for I'd love to be thinner. I already can get into my skinniest jeans and was so happy as I slipped it on me. I love being thinner! But must keep off the weight and your post will help me with keeping off the weight I've lost! I drink fresh cut lemon water daily which helps a lot to loose weight too.

Don't need to lose weight, but know you are right. A taste of something might be all many people need to be satisfied. If you did it, they can do it! Did you blog your journey or do a YouTube video?

I'm going to take your advice and eat tiny portions rather than a bigger portion. I really need to drop some weight

You are right. I realized that years ago. Just a taste of something is all I need but I have to admit there are some things I wish I had a lot of.
