I can not tell well the cooking herbs

There are cooking herbs like rosemary, thyme, mint, sage, basil, oregano and so on. Actually I just know that oregano is to used for the pizza. I don't know other herbs are suitable for which kind of food. I often feel confused to it. This is why I tend to use the mix herbs so that it won't get wrong

I seldom use herbs. Though, I use garlic, onions and pepper a lot to make my dish delicious. In some dishes I sprinkle some sugar.

I see you know very little, oregano is not only used for pizza, mint is good with lamb, thyme with fish, rosemary is good to roast meats and poultry but also good to be added to roasted potatoes. I have most herbs in my garden, they make the difference.

You really know me well It is true that I know few about these herbs as actually western and Chinese dishes are quite different. How about sage and basil? Are they good at some food? Now according to your suggestion, perhaps I shall buy more rosemary as it not only suits meats but also potatoes.

@youless We use basil on the Pizza Margherita, but also to make "pesto" it is a sauce to season pasta. Sage has a strong flavor, it also goes with roasted meats, but it is used added to melted butter to season gnocchi.

@youless oh yes, when they are dried it will be difficult to tell. But here, we have the McCormick brand which is already in bottle with the herbs name

I am familiar with these herbs but I don't know how to use them. But I have used basil when I cooked pasta a few months ago. And mint for my water.
