What I do so I don't lose my car (again)!

The other day (well it was five years ago, but) I forgot where I had parked my car. I literally walked around the parking garage for a good 20 minutes. There was no cell reception so that device i had in my car couldn't tell me where I was parked. I came up with this system, take a picture as you get on the elevator so you don't have to remember, just look! Anyone else? Or is this just a me issue...

I once called my boyfriend while he was at work and told him the car had been stolen. That's right, he came down and we found it on the west side parking lot, not the east side..

We do not live in a big country, if you forget where you parked the car it's better to go to see your doctor.

@DocAndersen I imagined something like this, I wrote carefully where our car was parked when we went to Disney World.

The parking garage in question has between 2000 and 2500 cars in it...

I have had that problem a couple of times so now when I park I look at the end of the row to see if there is a letter or some kind of distinguishing marker for me to remember. Pictures are a good idea too

I always do the row letter when I am parking at the airport. That is another good method!

Hit the panic button on the key fob so the alarm starts going off. That will show you where the car is.

The garage where I park is HUGE. And I am not the only person looking for their car.

If it's a big place I take a photo too! I've learned that hard way that I can't always rely on my memory

I am always (because of traffic and finding a spot) late. I rush out of the plaza to where my meeting is. I learned sadly to take that picture so that I can still rush, be on time, and not have to worry about where the car is. Funny thing, since I started taking the picture, I haven't forgotten the car once, and haven't had to check the picture once, either.

I don't drive but I try to look for markers to help me remember incase I get out of the store first. It really helps when they number things. When in doubt I'll text to whoever I'm with Parking garages are something I want to avoid

since everyone has a phone these days it's a great way to remember where you parked.
