Why are potato chips so addictive?

I opened a pack of potato chips for dinner and I are more than what I thought I would. What makes it so addictive? Is it the crispy texture, the potato taste or the salt?

I've heard excess salt is not good for your blood pressure.

It's everything! I love potato chips, but I try not to eat them for dinner. I limit the amount I eat, because of their addictiveness.

@pitstop Definitely! That's why I don't take the entire bag with me, I put some in a bowl.

Maybe it's better to succumb to the addiction without thinking why....
