Want to enjoy a positive fast food experience under the building famous for their "Golden Arches." According to Britain's newspaper The Sun, getting the freshest burger just might be a matter of asking the cashier for a receipt for your purchase. That's right, an employee who was interviewed by the London paper says staff gives priority to those who ask for payment details in case they’re mystery shoppers. There are two time periods where this tactic can really pay off. From 12-2 and 5-7 PM. This is when mystery shoppers, who get paid for their reviews, will visit a McDonald's restaurant and rate their experience. Therfore, every store manager will do everything to ensure their overall store rating is a positive one. So, to get that royal treatment and some fresh food make sure you ask for that receipt! Because, that's one time where mistaken identity can definitely be, as Martha Stewart might say, "a good thing." Source- Living.com Photo-time.com/google images

I can honestly say I always do, unless I need an emergency restroom

Turnover is so quick at McDonald's that burgers are usually fairly fresh.

Well this will give you the best that McDonald's can offer in the UK. No Mystery shopping here in Switzerland. I will continue to ignore McDonald's.

@dgobucks226 France surely has mystery shoppers and also plenty of McDonald's I have lived 30 years in the south of France and there are so many better places where to eat than to go to a McDonald's.

That's a great piece of advice! Our local McDonald's is probably the very worst one world wide so I'll try this If and when I ever eat there again.

I have not been to a McDonald's in years. The last fast food place I went to was Burger King and that was over a year ago. I prefer burgers at a restaurant or one from a pub where it's made to order.

Even if I'm not very fond of fast food, I still eat it from time to time and breakfast at McDonalds is quite good. Didn't know about this mystery shoppers thing, but I don't know if this works here, in Romania. It could actually be the opposite .

Oh well, if you ever visit the UK or U.S. it might come in handy... Other countries with mystery shoppers are Japan, China, France and Russia. None in Romania though

I will try that next time. Of course in our local Mickey D's the staff would probably not to pick up on it. Besides that, there are new faces in there every week!

I guess with the low hourly wage it should not surprise me that customer service would be lacking.

That is interesting- I am not sure if mystery shopping is as prevalent in India but we have a lot of McD outlets, especially in bigger cities and on some major highways.

There are other countries that have mystery shoppers. Some examples are China, Russia, France and Japan. Yes, McDonald's definitely has a global presence.

I've never had a bad experience dining at a McDonald's before. And I've dined there countless times, going as far back as when I was a little kid.

I will only go to a fast food place in an extreme emergency. Like nothing else is open or I'm out of food in my refrigerator

I did mystery shopping once for some cosmetics companies. It was fun to get paid and act like you’re vying for an Oscar’s. Lol And thanks for that McDonald’s trick. I’d definitely try that.

Interesting. I don't think the store I worked at did that. It was many years ago when I worked at McD's. I would need to ask my son, who is a manager at McD's if his store does that.

@dgobucks226 I asked my son, and he never heard of doing anything like that, and all the meals are fresh when ordered.

I used to work for a Jack In the Box way back in the early 90's. Not that we were providing sucky service or bad/wrong food to begin with, but we actually figured out who the mystery shopper was. She got perfect service every single time!

@dgobucks226 - She drove a gold colored Mercedes, and always showed up in the drive thru, shortly thereafter we'd get the report. The Colorado managers all compared notes and would call each other after she came through. We were the only Colorado Springs store, and after we'd get a call from Denver, sure enough, an hour or so later, there she was in our drive thru.
