A Wedding Today

Our granddaughter was married today. She was beautiful in her white off the shoulder gown and lace veil. Her long dark hair was piled on top of her head and she was a gorgeous bride. Her groom was handsome and was so caring toward her. I have to admit I shed a few tears. The wedding was held at a lakeside clubhouse with a beautiful view of the lake. There were about ninety guests. My granddaughters cousins came from Arizona to join in the festival. My son and daughter in law have planned the wedding all summer. It’s their only daughter and they wanted to give her a goood send off. Another of my sons and his wife pitched in and helped. It all came together today. My granddaughters dad walked her to the alter. Her brother was best man, the grooms brother was groomsman and two little nieces were flower girls. Everything went smoothly. The food was delicious. The wedding cake was chocolate and vanilla. They were a happy couple.

I know, seeing my granddaughter getting married was a happy and sad time. Just a few years ago she was with me almost every weekend and now she’s all grown up with a husband.

@RubyHawk My hubby and I sure got an ed-u-camation. He didn't get the expected job and I got pregnant and just that quick we were in the Great Depression, although it was about forty years after the proper time.

@sallypup After we were married a few months my husband lost his job and we had to stay with my mother a few weeks until he could get another job, that was when I was expecting our first child.That was one of our worst times.

Thank you! That’s my wish for them. They are fine now but I hope they will learn to work together for their marriage in the future. Most of us go into marriages with high hopes not expecting to have to work at it.

My granddaughter actually didn’t want that many guests. She wanted a smaller wedding but she gave in to her mom and dad. She knew they wanted to do it for her.

@Hannihar I feel the same way. You must live with any one to really know them. But I think they have a better chance after dating for years than dating a few months.

@RubyHawk I feel one can date years and not really know someone till then live together 24 hours and 7 days a week. That is when you really get to know someone I feel.

I am glad everything went well for your daughter's wedding. I think weddings can become one of the highlights in our lives that is why it is important that everything should go smooth and memorable to everyone. I congratulate you that you have witness this as a parent its a different perspective to look at since you are now the audience witnessing the ceremony and its not you anymore on the center of the ceremonies.
