In was going through the news tab on the Silk Browser on my Kindle and came across this news story. There have been a lot of stories that have come out of Hurricane Michael, especially from around my neck of the woods. This one is a happy one through, which is a nice change of pace.
Fifteen ships washed ashore on Dog Island in 1899 during a Category 2 hurricane that became known as the Carrabelle Hurricane.

Why do you say that? The history that this find holds is much better than any monetary prize that could be found

@thislittlepennyearns _I enjoy reading about history. But in a museum people will go look at valuable gold artifacts before clay pottery. What comes to people's mind first when they hear news of sunken ships?

@josie_ that's not necessarily true. Clay pots hold as much historical value of not more as good coins..

I wonder if historians will be able to identify which of the 15 lost ships have been unearthed.

@thislittlepennyearns If they were insured by Lloyds's of London, someone will be trying to find the providence to prove which ships they were.

@DWDavis I'm sure this is just the beginning of this story. I've added it to my feed so hopefully I will be able to follow the developments.

I read about that last night. Pretty cool. It would have been even more awesome if they had been previously undocumented shipwrecks, but in this case the shipwrecks have been throughly documented.

That is a pretty cool find. Beachcombing is best after a storm.
