Awareness has been raised for Gender Equality, Mental Health Awareness and many others. Will there come a time that attention be given to workers suffering from fibromyalgia - mild or extreme cases. Tonight, I am suffering from severe backpain and disorientation. I know I will miss work again tomorrow. I cannot be caught in an important transaction or meeting and mess it all up. It's too risky. I wish I can find a more flexible job suitable for someone with this syndrome. I had better days, of course and therapy makes me live an almost pain free life. But I am sensitive to my surroundings, I am emotionally fragile. I try to help myself. But an outside aid would be of great value to me.

I agree and there are many more that need to be considered like endometriosis and ankiospondilytis. These conditions also affect productivity and efficiency of a person.

I'm really sorry for people who have these. Even for a normal person, work can be stressful. How much more for those with health conditions.

@yoalldudes Very true. I am suffering from endometriosis for last few years. This year I am off work and taken a break. I have constricted myself to work twice a month. Since I have financial support I could afford to do so. Otherwise it is a big challenge to work with such pain and you feel so low.

I do not have any idea what the disease is all about. But by describing yourself I can imagine how painful it would be if you have it. I think our government should start having some concession in considering this seems to becoming a trend to our society already. I have been hearing this word around but so far I haven't met one with the disease.

@yoalldudes Since there is no legal recognition for it to be considered as disability then it would be at the employers discretion to implement such in their workplaces. I really think a legislation would be needed so that everyone will treat to everybody equally.

You have heard about it? That is a good sign.I would appreciate any help from my employer, either time flexibility, even just understanding from fellow coworkers is a great help.

Can't be easy to live with this. I hope that your country gets some new laws about this.

No one knows about fibromyalgia in my workplace. Even doctors dismiss it as just some muscle pain.

Fibromyalgia is not considered for disability here in our country, I believe.

With fibro you have to keep moving no matter what or it gets worst. I ask many people what would they do if the SSD was discontinued? Its not much money each month anyways and I know no one that can live off of that small check. You stay strong and work through this, keep your job! I did not know your country has a SSD program.
