Disease Craziness

Don't go to Europe; particularly Italy unless you want to get a case of the Measles. The outbreak is massive in several countries. A lot of parents aren't vaccinating their kids because they believe they will get Autism. And men? Be careful if you're over 45. The increase in Parkinson's has increased dramatically over the last decade. They are saying 1 million cases by 2020 and 1.24 million by 2030. Personally? I think it's the stinking chemicals in the foods screwing everybody up. https:

The link doesn't work for me. You seem to know more about measles in Europe (47 states!) than I do.

The inoculation-Autism thing was debunked years ago. I'd think most Europeans would know that.

I'm sorry about the link @MALUSE . 2018 has the highest record in the last decade in Europe. From January-June, 41,000 kids & adults got it. Greece, Georgia, Russia, Serbia and France are also being affected. Germany and the UK are worrying the experts.

What do you have against my country? I have been to Italy two days ago, I go every week. People can ask to be vaccinated and there are no risks. I had measles as a kid, so I risk nothing.

@nanette64 I fear a lot more the Tuberculosis than the Measles going to Italy. All those immigrants who came from Africa have brought it back and this is highly contagious.

No, I absolutely love your country @LadyDuck because of all the good, common sense things that they do.

Italy is one place you should be going - its a beautiful place, and I am sure that if you are properly prepared to travel, you wont have any issues.

@Inlemay You can be protected with a vaccine no need to say "do not go to Italy": I go every week.

@nanette64 I had the measles as a baby and was in a dark room for almost 4 weeks with my eyes bound closed - I was lucky not to lose my hearing nor my eyesight. But I have travelled to Europe as well as Italy twice - Why can't you travel if you have had the disease?

I can't travel anymore because of physical disabilities @Inlemay. Plus I had the Measles as a kid.

I think I had measles as a kid. Does that protect me? My sister lives in Italy. I should check in with her about the measles in Italy thing.

@nanette64 You are contradicting yourself here. Further up you say, "I can't travel anymore because of physical disabilities. . . ***Plus I had the Measles as a kid.***" And here it is, "...as a kid all 6 of us kids got it . . . We are safe since we already had it." Only one statement can be right.

Yeah, as a kid all 6 of us kids got it @TheHorse . We are safe since we already had it. I would definitely check with your sister.

There are outbreaks of measles here in the US each year too due to stupid parents who don't vaccinate.

And it's preventable; that's what is irritating @NJChicaa . Back in the day (60+ years ago); all 6 of us kids got it (the Measles that is). But then too we all got the Mumps and the Chicken Pox too.

@NJChicaa Yup, any of the childhood diseases were a pain in the butt. My poor Mom, she got the Mumps 3 times. First on one side of her neck, then the other, then on both sides.

@nanette64 That's what kills me. These are people who were vaccinated themselves so they don't know how truly horrible and dangerous these diseases are. Chicken pox--that one is mostly just annoying though it can be dangerous for infants and the immunocompromised.

I had measles as a kid so I wouldn't be at risk. Now as for mumps, I'm not sure I've had that one. Your so right about the chemicals in non organic foods, I steer clear of them unless I'm with friends who want to go out to eat but that doesn't happen very often.

in South Africa children inoculated against measles is mandatory and is noted in our ID documents and passports = like all other inoculations, yellow fever, cholera, TB, so it seems we are safe to travel the world, however its always someone from other countries that bring strains to our country and start a pandemic
