Today is municipal election day in Ontario and it's about time I get off my ass and go vote. I can't complain about the pols if I don't vote. I don't understand why people don't vote and then complain about the outcome.
PS: I had originally said a r s e but myLot said it was a bad word. It prefers the less polite ass.

Why don't you vote? Women fought hard to get the right to vote, many were jailed.

@JESSY3236 You can't reform the system by not voting, though. You need to elect someone who will change it, and that only happens when everyone votes. By not voting, you are saying you are satisfied with the status quo.

And with the computerised balloting, results are known as soon as the polls close.

@Juliaacv That's called a ranked ballot. I could only choose 1 for mayor, but two for the ward, and up to 6 for the regional council (don't ask me what they do).

@BarBaraPrz Here in London we have a different ballot this time around. We have to vote first, second and third choices for mayor.

@BarBaraPrz least here lol it's all in who you know. The new mayor is related to half the township as was the last who just retired at 89.

Their complaining is about as useful as shutting the barn door after the horse has run away.

@BarBaraPrz This is correct, every vote counts, if you do not vote, do not complain.

Correct. I know someone who doesn't vote yet is the first to complain if something isn't up to his liking.
