Glad I Saw 'Em. It's a musical series about musicians that I had the opportunity to see, because they are now deceased. We are at #8: Robert Palmer (1949-2003.) It's sad, really, that a hell of a lot of people only remember British vocalist Robert Palmer for the 1986 video for his hit song, "Addicted to Love," because the man had been active in the music industry since 1964, and had released a ton of great music up to that point. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Red Rocks Amphitheater, located outside of Denver, is the greatest live music venue in the world. That's just my opinion, but I'm sticking to it. Anyway, Robert Palmer hit Red Rocks during the summer of 1986 in support of his wildly successful 1985 album, Riptide, and I was able to score a couple of tickets. And what a show! The smooth, dapper singer ran the gamut of his career, trotting out classics such as "Sneakin' Sally Through the Alley," "Bad Case of Loving You (Doctor Doctor,)" "Every Kinda People," "Looking for Clues," "Johnny and Mary," "Pressure Drop," and on and on and on, all while performing Riptide tunes such as "Addicted to Love," "Discipline of Love" (the show opener,) and "Hyperactive," as well as squeezing in a couple of Power Station hits for good measure. Honestly, I couldn't have asked for a better show. I often leave a concert disappointed that certain songs were omitted from the setlist. This was definitely not one of those times. Hard to believe that Robert Palmer has been gone for 15 years. It just doesn't seem like it's been that long. Thanks for the music, Robert. And thanks for the memorable show! We’re swapping today: I did see Thin Lizzy, but never got to see Robert Palmer. I would’ve sneaked Sally through the alley to do so!!

That was a bit weird, I had to think about who Robert Palmer was. Now I remember, it is hard to believe that was 15 years ago

@teamfreak16 What probably doesn't help is that I keep confusing with another Robert - Robert plant. I know, weird!

I saw him with Powerstation but I have to admit, the only reason I went was to see John Taylor (Duran Duran)

It was a great show. The Blow Monkeys, if you remember them, were the opening band.
